I am populating a control with data in a loop...
The problem is that while the loop is taking place and because it takes a long time to finish the loop, the UI freezes.
Can you show me a simple example where I populate a control with many items but at the same time I can see the data being added to the listbox and so the UI does not freeze?
I know this is to do with threads but I have not been able to find a simple example to implement.
Thanks

Look for examples (of which there are many thousands), read, learn, replicate, debug, enhance. profit.

For instance, you may choose a meeaningful title for your post.

This is going on my arrogant assumptions. You may have a superb reason why I'm completely wrong.

Sure.
First thing you'll need as PDF Library - a Google search should head you in the direction of the many commercial PDF libraries available for .Net.
Second thing you'll need is some kind of parser. What's required there really depends on the PDF library you end up settling on. Some will have richer support for parsing out the data contained, and some won't, so bear this in mind when evaluating your options.

The request is too broad. There are multiple ways of accessing a database, and it's hard to give an answer without a specific question.
So, a broad answer; put your database on a server and write some web-services to interact with the database. That way you can access your data from both Web-applications as well as Desktop-applications.
Good luck

Why? Firstly your question makes no sense, secondly CP is for problems, not free code. If you need code writing try rentacoder.com
