It may very well be that the forum-members cannot answer a question. That doesn't mean that the question should be repeated until infinity.
If your problem remains unresolved, don't just repeat the previous question. Do some research, reformulate the question, and post that a few days later. Your chances of getting a valuable response will increase

I knew the answer long before you asked the question. Even if had not known it, I would still have posted to warn the community. You were given exactly the same answer yesterday.

How to get syntactically correct signature which compiles for code template grneration ?
I tried code below but it creates syntactically incorrect signature.
using System;
using System.Collections.Generic;
public class MainClass
{
static string GetSignature(Type xTheType, string method)
{
var xModule = xTheType.Module;
var xTheMethod = xTheType.GetMethod(method);
return xTheMethod.ToString();
}
public static void Main()
{
Console.WriteLine(GetSignature(typeof(MainClass), "Test"));
}
public void Test(object p1, List<string> p2)
{
}
}

Hi everyone, I am trying desperately to figure out how to get the sync framework file sync to communicate over http. I gather I am going to have to send the information over webservices but am finding it hard to know where to start. I have it working over unc fine. I am using CTP2 as well, I tried looking into http://blogs.sqlxml.org/bryantlikes/archive/2008/01/03/remote-file-sync-using-wcf-and-msf.aspx[^] as well but that didnt seem to compile properly and am gathering it is using an old release. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
Cheers,
Johnboy

If you'd like to see an example in code, I wrote an article about putting text on a bitmap that uses MeasureString (as recommended by Giorgi).

Hello everyone,
1.
I am not 100% and just want to confirm, every exception thrown from Web Services server side must be derived from SOAPException, and from client side, every exception caught are derived SOAPException?
2.
The reason why I ask this is I am confused about Web Services exception handling mechanism, I am not sure for client side code, we need to handle other kinds of exception, like IO or network related exception?
regards,
George

Hi all,
In my case..there is a server and client..
assume PC-A as server,PC-B as client.
Printer is physically connected to PC-A server,which is now can be called as Print Server(i.e.,PC-A).
The problem is as below..
Here the user is at PC-B(client machine),then he opens a normal word document(not through my application) and gives the normal file print...Then Immediately i have to invoke my c#.net windows application which is used for some accounting purpose.
To my knowledge I thought to write a service to watch/catch the spool file generation at client PC-B(client machine) machine and then it should invoke the windows application..But actually the spool file is generated at Server end but at client end...
Kindly guide me to resolve this issue..

You're copying files? It's not that hard to implement in your own application.
Before you start copying, put the current time in a variable. (DateTime startCopy = DateTime.Now) Next, you're gonna copy a list of files. Once you have copied the first file, get the current time.
Get the timespan between those two timings. At this point you want to know how long it took to copy a single file. You also know how much files you're going to copy, right?
Next thing you do, is check out how many files still need to be copied. (How many items are remaining in the list?) Multiply by the time that it took to copy a single file - and there you have your "Remaining time:"
The displayed time will be a rough indication. It might be more accurate if you count the bytes copied
Hope this helps,

On the Form_Load event type:
this.Hide();
This will hide the form as soon as it's opened by the user.
