When you run an instance of your exe, first you can check if another instance is running. If it is then make old instance visible and exit from the new instance.

Add data to existing excel file

Hi ,
My application basically contains a text box.

Once user presses a button, the data from the text box, should be added to an excel file.

Data should be appended..

Any solutions?

Erm, added where? Any cell number? Any work sheet?
Will you set a cell format?
Do you process how many active cells in a column there are, so your numnber can be added?

There are many questions for you to work out, before you dive in to the examples another poster just gave you.

i tired one ag in msdn

datas need to be appended...i.e data should be keep on adding.

But in the example, the old datas get erased

there is also one paramter Saveas. It keeps on asking whenevr i add a data
Data should be added with out asking the question

Unlike other data files where you open them, go to the end, and start writing, Excel files must be told where (i.e., what cell) to put the data. How are you doing this?

Hi,
i want to display a tooltip when the mouse pointer is over a specific part of window.
I am using the following code

Call method EnableToolTips().
Capture message TTN_NEEDTEXT.
Add ON_NOTIFY_EX( TTN_NEEDTEXT, 0, OnToolTipNotify) in the message map and implement method OnToolTipNotify.

Thanks for replying. Actually it was my fault because the coordinates which i was using as boundry for tooltip were not correct.

Hi all,

i have two diffrent buttons.

when keyboard use instead of mouse.

if i (press enter)clicked button 1 than focus set to the next button that is button 2.

i have use SetFocus() on Clicked event of button1,but its not done.

please tell me how can i do this.

I believe you can use GDI to render the text to a window or a memory context and then save its contents as an image.

These are the function for drawing using GDI Font and Text Functions[^].

You can try to look up for memory DC and how to save it to a image.

I am using listview in recordview with checkbox when I check and unchecked checkbox
of particular row then that row not selected.It only selected when I click
on that row item. so what I want that row should also get selected when I check and
uncheck the checkbox of the row. How It is possible???

Hi all,

How can I convert an UINT into wstring.

Initially I convert it into CStringW, using Format(). But wstring there is no such thing. I want to avoid MFC here.

Any idea?
