Hi All,
I have a custom WPF control (say X). I have a text box(say Y) in X. I will be placing X in a System.Windows.Window object (say Z). Now I want the text in Y to be based(bound to) on a string/int value in X. Now this value of the string/int in X will be based on some value in Z. Hope Iam clear. How can I use data binding to achieve the same? Any help would be highly appreciated.

I have a silverlight application, and I want to open an aspx page inside the Silverlight and to interact between them.
Does anyone knows if there is any aspx box container in Silverlight?

Got a partial solution of the problem:
If we use the user control i.e. the .ascx file in the xaml page
we can do it like
1. REgister the usercontrol with following tag in
xmlns:MyUserControl="clr-namespace:SilverlightAppWeb"
where SilverlightAppWeb is the namespace of the .ascx user control
2. Use it anywhere with tag
<MyUserControl:Servicecontent/>
where Servicecontent is the class name.
This was successful for calling xaml file, i.e. xaml usercontrol.
But giving following error with .ascx file:
AG_E_PARSER_BAD_TYPE [Line....]
where the line is <MyUserControl:Servicecontent/> when .ascx is used.
And shows contents when the reference of xaml page is given....
Further let's try....

Short of purchasing[^] a commercial solution there's no easy way to accomplish this (well there is one, but it's a hack). One common way of doing this (the hack way) is to float a div over Silverlight to make it appear that this is inside the actual control.

I have a menuitem inside GridViewColumn.HeaderTemplate
that binds a
CommandParameter=”{Binding RelativeSource={RelativeSource AncestorType=ContextMenu}, Path=PlacementTarget}”
PlacementTarget puts me at a grid that forms the header datatemplate of my GridViewColumn.
what would be the binding expression to continue this up to finally bind GridViewColumn to the commandparameter?
I want to be able to walk up the dom using nested binding expression... anyone know how to do this?

Hey guys,
I have a WCF data service that works well with an Internet application I developed (using Forms authentication). Now I'm trying to create a WPF desktop application that uses this same data service and does its own custom authentication. The problem is my WCF data service always sees Membership.GetUser() as null. I've tried calling Membership.ValidateUser() within both the WPF application and the WCF data service with no luck. What am I missing, what am I doing wrong?
Thank you,
David

Hi All,
i'm a new one user of NHibernate and WPF (i'm a new one also in the programmer's field) so in studying and exerciting to develop my knowledge about these tools,so meantime i 'm studying i 'm doing an exercise about NHibernate with WPF.
In my exercise ,when i debug the project,i receive this error :
NullReferenceException was unhandled.
Object reference not set to an instance of an object..
in this method
public void AddContact()
{
Contact _contact = new Contact();
ContactViewModel model = new ContactViewModel(_contact);
ContactWindow w = new ContactWindow();
w.Owner = this.View;
model.View = w;
w.Model = model;
w.DataContext = model;
if (w.ShowDialog() == true)
ContactList.Add(_contact);
this.View.Focus();}
I got a poor knowledge so i fall down in stupid error losing so much time to understand and after i get confuse so i try to ask help to make me understand how i can work out this error..
I post my project on this link:

Change these lines
if (w.ShowDialog() == true)
ContactList.Add(_contact); to
if (w.ShowDialog() == true)
{
if (ContactList == null)
ContactList = new List<Contact>();
ContactList.Add(_contact);
}

HI Pete,
thanks to reply me,
i changed there lines:
if (w.ShowDialog() == true)
ContactList.Add(_contact);
to
if (w.ShowDialog() == true)
{
if (ContactList == null)
ContactList = new BindingList<contact>();
ContactList.Add(_contact); }
because it doesn't allow me to insert List<> so i insert BindingList <t>...
after i will debug and see what happen..
Thanks again.
i wish you happy work.
See you later

Hi ,
Please try to help me
Can you figure out what the problem could be,
I am building a Carousel in WPF , I have a MediaContent control in the carousel.
When I have the wmv video assigned as the source to the Media content and then when I build and debug the application, It is taking a while before the video starts . The player shows a black screen before its starts the video, It is also occuring in an asp.net website!!
Is it a known issue. Wat is the best solution?
Please let me know asap.
Thanks.
Happy Programming!

Hi,
I'm learning how Silverlight/WPFapplication/Direct3D interact between themselves...
Sorry but I haven't a lot experience about this issues, so my question is:
- IS IT POSSIBLE, WITH SILVERLIGHT, TO RENDER WPF FILES IN A DIREC3D/WIN32 APPLICATION? HOW CAN DO IT?
Thanks a lots,
bye,
Carmelo.

Please do not cross post in the forums. This particular forum is probably the best one for your question.

No worries. As Pete has said, you cannot really do what you are asking about.

Could you clarify what you mean please? I can't answer this question because I don't really understand it.

Hi Pete,
you're right, I try to be clearer
Silverlight is a CROSS PLATFORM, right?
I can create a Direct3D content for hosting in WPF, right?
If I want to work with Direct3D I'll be able to do it only on Windows platform, right?
If I lose the plot please correct me.
So I'd like to know if is it possible to render WPF files in a D3D/Win32 app. with Silverlight.
Can I consider also Moonlight and OpenGL for to do this?
I hope I've been fulfilling,
Thanks,
regards,
Carmelo.

OK - the answer is no. You can't create DirectX stuff in Silverlight - as you've rightly identified this is because of cross platform issues.

Hi there,
maybe now I've clearer ideas...
So my question is:
How can I capture WPF content/output from Silverlight App and render it in a Direct3D App ?
Thank you,
bye,
Carmelo.
