Hi all,
I am currently working on a report and I'm making use of Microsoft Reporting Services and Visual Studio 2008. Furthermore I'm trying to make use of a report expression to handle / accommodate fields within the report that will have empty / null values. My expression is currently looking like this:
=Switch(Fields!TAGS.Value.ToString().Trim().Equals(String.Empty), "No Tags",
IsNothing(Fields!TAGS.Value.ToString()), "No Tags",
Fields!TAGS.Value.ToString().Contains("BIBO"), "YES",
Not Fields!TAGS.Value.ToString().Contains("BIBO"), No)
The problem is that when I run the report, some of the values of Fields!TAGS.Value does not match with any statement in the switch, and I know that the value is equal to nothing (empty) in the database.
So how can I handle / accommodate for this occurrence?
Many thanks in advance
Kind regards,

1. Create Access Database and Tables
2. Depending on the format of the file either use Access Import or write some code to read the file and insert the records
There you go.

Hi, I'm currently on a project on image processing and is there anyway that can convert a 32bits iamge to a 24bits image in order for me to run a method called in AForge .Net to get the similarities in image while retaining the colour if i were to convert it into 8bits I would lose the colour in the images. It only allows 24bits or 8bits for the method to run though. Thanks. =)

Just throw away every fourth byte. It's only used as padding to get each pixel on a word boundary.
Despite everything, the person most likely to be fooling you next is yourself.

Not true all of the time... sometimes it is used as the "alpha" channel to convey translucency. But probably not in his case.
He said, "Boy I'm just old and lonely,
But thank you for your concern,
Here's wishing you a Happy New Year."
I wished him one back in return.

Hi Everyone,
I need to change the forecolor to Red and backcolor to blue when a node is selected in a treeview. Can anyone help me in this regard.

Handle NodeMouseClick event. You will get the node selected by checking TreeNodeMouseClickEventArgs.Node . TreeNode has BackColor and ForeColor properties.
Reading the documentation is always a good practice

Hi Navaneeth,
Thanks for your response. Iam using VS2003 IDE. "NodeMouseClick" is not available. Please let me know how to proceed.

I tried with "Treeview_AfterSelect", color change is not happening.

Here is a code which worked at my end
private void treeView1_AfterSelect(object sender, System.Windows.Forms.TreeViewEventArgs e){
e.Node.BackColor = Color.Blue;
e.Node.ForeColor = Color.Red;
}

Navaneeth,
Eg.,
I have treeview like this
Root -> A1 -> A
B
C
In your case when I select A it gives Root as red in color. A should be colored as RED.(Node which is focussed). Please let me know if i am wrong.

hello guys!!
i have a table with a collumn datetime type, in the winform i have datetimepicker so i choose a date and save but it doesn't work here is some code..
DateTime dtime;
dtime=dateTimePicker1.Value.Date;
row["Date"] = dtime;
the dtime variable contains the date, for example 12-2-2008 12:00pm
but when i click tha save button it sais it cannot convert datetime from string

|
|
|

Its always better to use string for saving Datetime.
Cheers!!

No. It's not a good practice.

You can say somewhat it's not a good practice but for better flexibility and avoid Exceptions one can use it.
It's all upto one what is one's way of coding

It will make your code to be prone to error.

Try to parse that string to a DateTime instance and supply that to the table. There are methods like DateTime.TryParse or DateTime.Parse
