I have got a popup form im using to get information that i will load on the main form. On the popup form im using the following code to update the main form by forcing a postback.
string script1 = "window.opener.document.forms(0).submit();";
ScriptManager.RegisterStartupScript(Page, Page.GetType(), "submit", script1, true);
my problem is forcing the submit on the main form corrupts some controls(third part tools). I would like to refresh only the textbox being updated on the main page.
Does anyone know the best way to do this.

Hi Good Morning to Every One here!
I being a VC++ Developer does't have much exposure to WebDeveloping Technology. I would like to know What's WSDL is all about!
Why its needed? What difference does it make, if we are not going use this technology/approach?

No kidding. I was just reading up on a ton of those articles yesterday whilst investigating consuming web services with Silverlight 2.0. Printed out a few so I have something to read while the car is in the shop today.

Hi,
Im trying to send a XML string to a differet asp page and get the response from it.
'strFileName = an XML file with extension .txt
My Code sample
<pre>Set objXMLHTTP = Server.CreateObject("MSXML2.ServerXMLHTTP")
Set fsoFileSystem = createobject("scripting.filesystemobject")
set fsoFile = fsoFileSystem.OpenTextFile(strFileName,ForReading)
'Read the file into a variable
strACORDXML = fsoFile.ReadAll
fsoFile.Close
set fsoFile =Nothing
objXMLHTTP.open "POST", strURL, False
'Set the option to ignore SSL cert errors
'13056 is SXH_OPTION_IGNORE_SERVER_SSL_CERT_ERROR_FLAGS
objXMLHTTP.setOption 2, 13056
'Set the HTTP headers
objXMLHTTP.setRequestHeader "MIME-Version", "1.0"
objXMLHTTP.setRequestHeader "Content-Type", "Multipart/Related; boundary=MIME_boundary;"
'Send the XML string
objXMLHTTP.send (strACORDXML)
'Get the response
strResponse = objXMLHTTP.responseText </pre>
If I used MSXML2.ServerXMLHTTP object, it gives me time out error:
msxml3.dll error '80072ee2'
The operation timed out
Actually both webpages that's communicating are hosted at the same machine. The main site (ex. aa.domain.com) points to particular folder under it, while another one (ex. bb.domain.com) points to another folder which is two levels
up to the first one.
Please help!!

I've noticed that many modern web site home pages (Web 2.0) appear to have clearly marked left and right margins. You can see an example of this if you maximize the following web page - www.plentyoffish.com. Here is another example - www.music.com. Here is one more example - www.viddia.com.
My question is - what is the easiest way to implement this type of layout where the left and right margins are clearly defined? I would imagine that this type of layout would typically use css instead of tables. I'm not sure how it's done though. What are your thoughts on the best way to easily implement this type of layout?

Well, I think so you should do it with AnctionScript in Flash or Swish !

I have some code that works fine (brings up the open save cancel dialog to download the file) in the VS2008 IDE.
but when it is running on the server, the window just opens for few seconds then closes and no file download dialog shows.
Response.Charset = "";
Response.ContentType = "Application/x-msexcel"; //also tried Response.ContentType = "application/vnd.xls";
Response.AddHeader("Content-Disposition", "attachment;filename=StockIn_" + CurrentWarehouseS + ".xls");
System.IO.StringWriter stringWrite = new System.IO.StringWriter();
System.Web.UI.HtmlTextWriter htmlWrite = new HtmlTextWriter(stringWrite);
gvInfo.RenderControl(htmlWrite); //gvInfo is a GridView
Response.Output.Write(stringWrite.ToString()); // Also tried Response.Write(stringWrite.ToString());
Response.End();
I get the same results even on the server itself

Hi, I'm having problems matching up my site's look and feel with Firefox and IE, I've tried setting it up differently via a CSS IF statement but haven't been able to get far in smoothing things out.
I'm not sure If I'm supposed to post the code here or just link the problem, I'm not sure how to explain it myself but you can see it at http://www.jeeney.com if you check both browsers, it looks cut up and chunky in IE.
I would be grateful for any suggestions
Thanks in advance!
PS let me know if I need to paste in the actual CSS i'm using.

Hey everyone, this is my first post, been trying to find a solution to this problem for couple days now, but no luck so far. I got this to work on a site I worked on a long time ago, but have since forgot how I did it unfortanetly. My problem is I have a top_inc.php which holds the header menu as well as the left side content. The problem is when I include this into my index.php, it causes anything I enter into the html on this page to be pushed below the side left content which is in the top_inc.php. I'm new in this industry and any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. http://www.hewittmediasolutions.com/sn/index.php for referance.

Hi dhewitt88 and welcome to CP.
I don't understand your meaning well, can you post your snippet code .
|
|
|
|
|
this is the index.php, I typed in hello just for testing
-------------------------
<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
<head>
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" />
<title>Welcome to Stork News!</title>
<?php include ("top_inc.php"); ?>
</head>
<body>
<table align="right" width="841">
<tr><td>hello</td></tr></table>
</body>
</html>
-------------------------
this is the top_inc.php that is for the php include (i took out the mapping to reduce the code length):
-------------------------
<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
<head>
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" />
<title></title>
</head>
<body background="images/pagebckground.jpg" topmargin="5">
<table width="1024" border="0" align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0">
<tr><td align="center"><img src="images/header_banner.gif" width="1024" height="159" border="0" usemap="#Map" />
</tr>
<tr><td><img src="images/babiesrus.gif" width="182" height="123" border="0" usemap="#Map2" /></tr></td>
<tr><td><img src="images/left_2.gif" width="182" height="122" /></tr></td>
<tr><td><img src="images/left_3.gif" width="182" height="123" /></tr></td>
<tr><td><img src="images/left_4.gif" width="182" height="122" /></tr></td>
<tr><td><img src="images/left_bottom.gif" width="182" height="123" /></tr></td>
</table>
</body>
</html>

You should write something like this :
Index.php
<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
<head>
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" />
<title>Welcome to Stork News!</title>
<?php
include ("top_inc.php" ) ;
?>
</head>
<body>
<table align="right" width="841">
<tr>
<td>hello</td>
</tr>
</table>
</body>
</html>
top_inc.php
<table width="1024" border="0" align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0">
<tr>
<td align="center"><img src="images/header_banner.gif" width="1024" height="159" border="0" usemap="#Map" />
</tr>
<tr>
<td><img src="images/babiesrus.gif" width="182" height="123" border="0" usemap="#Map2" />
</tr>
</td>
<tr>
<td><img src="images/left_2.gif" width="182" height="122" />
</tr>
</td>
<tr>
<td><img src="images/left_3.gif" width="182" height="123" />
</tr>
</td>
<tr>
<td><img src="images/left_4.gif" width="182" height="122" />
</tr>
</td>
<tr>
<td><img src="images/left_bottom.gif" width="182" height="123" />
</tr>
</td>
</table>

I couldn't see your web page. it doesn't show ( why ? )
try this :
<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
<head>
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" />
<title>Welcome to Stork News!</title>
</head>
<body>
<?php include ("top_inc.php" ); ?>
<table align="right" width="841">
<tr>
<td>hello</td>
</tr>
</table>
</body>
</html>
