As your question is very basic, I'm assuming your windows programming knowledge is minimal? Nothing wrong with that - we all started there.
But if so, you are probably biting off a little bit too much.
You are asking two non-trivial questions - how do I read in a file of comma separated values, and how do I plot them?
Is there any reason why you can't use excel for plotting these values?
If you really do have to write your own software, I'd follow the other suggestion and look at the charting controls here.

Yes, I just started to GUI programing.
We have an image processing project, so these values are not excel values. Dynamically changing values created with other functions.
I am now thinking, I can create a BMP and show it in a picturebox. It'll be a easy way for me. (Because I'm experienced in image processing.)
I'll be asking more questions about these.
Thanks a lot.

Hello, how to get the accounts that appear on "Control Panel/User Accounts" dialog page? I tried NetUserEnum and the IADsUser interface but they return built-in accounts too. I need to get only the "human" accounts. Thank you.

Each control has a method, for example buttons: you can use of SetBitmap but if you want to use of different states for a button up/down/foucs,.. you can use of CBitmapButton(however you can use of an image list for it) but generaly you can make a image list and then use of it for Comboboxs/buttons/treectrls/catctrls/ctoolbars,...
you can make a CImageList and then use of Add for insert image or images to list and then use of them.

Your question does not make much sense to me.
"I want to move an image, which means drawing it in a different place, without redrawing".
Are these controls under your own, erm, control?
If this is things on other people's software, than maybe you want your own non-rectangular window? Not easy, but far from impossible.
What is the end result of what you are trying to do?

On any control?
Tough.
On a control, you write? Sortof easy. Just have to write a control that displays a background, with extra images on top. Then handle mouse messages, and move the extra images about.
None of that is high tech programming, just book-keeping and tedious -not-doing-something-dumb.

Hi, I have data on device and i have data in SQL Server Database.
I want to compare the data on device with Data in database to make sure both are same after downloading data on device.
what is best way to do that.
How can i implement the checksum on SQL Server tables to compare with checksum of data on device tables. to make sure both data are same.
|
|
|

You may implement the checksum (the same of the device) in your code and use it with database values, the compare the result with the one stored by the device.

Hi,
I have COM module which run as local server on invocation by the client.
I have Cisco Security Agent installed on my machine. When I run my client which onvokes COM module.I can run the requests and COM module will give the result. Once I get the result this COM module will be removed which is not suppose to. I cannot run some other requests again because COM module will not be there. This happens only with Cisco Security agent installed on the machine not even you need to run this service.If it just installed on your machine it gives you problem.COM module should go only when Client closes. IF CSA(Cisco Security Agent) is not installed on the machine this perfectly works fine.Any idea why this hehaves like this?
Please help me.

Hello,
I have the following code
class C
{
void* ptr;
CreateCombo();
};
C::CreateCombo()
{
CRect R(0,0,0,0);
CComboBox* Combo = new CComboBox;
Combo->Create(SIMPLECOMBOBOX,R,this,ID);
ptr = Combo;
}
Now I have a few values in this ComboBox (ptr)
How can I retrieve the values from the ptr?

Why don't you simply get the values from the Combo Box first and then store them in some appropriate variable after using GetItemData?
Some things seem HARD to do, until we know how to do them.

From the code snippet you've shown, there's no reason to have ptr . It serves no purpose.

You have to cast the void* to a CComboBox*:
((CComboBox *) ptr)->GetCurSel () for example.
|
|
|
|
|
A little bit of C++ to the recipe will be nice. For instance,
CComboBox* pComboBox = static_cast<ccombobox*>( ptr );
pComboBox->TheFnYouNeedToCall();

Jijo.

Is the only way to call OnDraw() is by calling Invalidate?
Tell me the other ways how i can Call OnDraw()?
Also pls confirm that Is not OnDraw() called by the framework under any circumstances?
If it is called by the framework under any situation describe it.
Thanks in advance.

Can you explain about your problem?

No, there is also
OnDraw();

You can also send the WM_DRAW message to your window.
OnDraw () isn't called by the framework if the WM_DRAW message isn't sent by the framework.
The WM_DRAW message isn't sent if the framework is unaware that the view has been changed. In this situation, you tell the framework it's been changed by calling Invalidate ().

Hello !
I am trying to connect remote SQL server from my app. The Connectionstring I am using is as follows .
connection->Open(L"Provider=sqloledb;DBPROP_INIT_DATASOURCE='p3swhsql-v06.shr.phx3.secureserver.net';"
L"Initial Catalog=XXXX;User ID=XXXXX;Password=XXXXX ", L"",
L"", ADODB::adConnectUnspecified);
Error Message comes as "Login failed for user 'XXXXX'"
But for same user using asp.net I can connect.
Anyone please help me to connect this server. I do not have IP address for the remote system.
thank you
