Congrats Jammer!
Like the nice clean website design, with a little bit of funk from the logo, menu and angled screenshots.
You might want to make the screenshot on the front page clickable.
And add the download button to your homepage, when your ready to go.

Hey Jammer
I just downloaded and installed you app, but it crashes upon launch
The exception is of type TypeLoadException and the message says "Could not load type 'System.Windows.SplashScreen' from assembly 'WindowsBase, Version=3.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35'."
Your .Net Tester is working fine, and I'm using XP Pro SP2 if that helps
I hope you can fix this soon cause the app looks really cool

Hey chap,
Thanks for trying it out!
It sounds like you need to upgrade to .NET 3.5 SP1 as the SplashScreen class is new to SP1.
Have you got SP1 installed already? If you do ... I think the word is FECK!!
Cheers,
Jammer.

Hey jammer
Yeah I haven't upgraded to SP1 yet, ill try it a little later... Maybe you should let your .Net Tester check if SP1 is installed and give a warning of some kind, just a thought.
Anywho, I'll let you know what you think as soon as i get it working
Cheers

Hi,
Can I implement Dock Property in a control without the use of DockPanel. i.e. when the
custom myDock property of a control is given as myDock = "Top", it should go & dock to the top
of its parent.
Thanks in advance,
|

You could use attached dependency property to implement this kind of behavior...Josh Smith has a good article on attached behaviors in WPF.

Can we create a Windows Project using Silver Light (VS 2008)
If Yes then How ?
Which one is better to create Windows Appl (SilverLight or WPF) and why?
Thanks n Regards

Strictly speaking, you can. Silverlight runs in a web browser, which might be running on Windows (or not as the case may be). However, it will not be able to interact with the operating system, and runs inside the limits of the browser sandbox.
If you want an application that works in Windows, and allows you to interact with the operating system then you need WPF.

Hello everyone,
I have following problem: I need to place objects in virtual building. Building has several floors. Each object is defined something like
class MyObject
{
int x,y,z;
string name;
EventHandler event;
..etc...
}
I have a list of MyObjects and I want to present it using 2D and 3D view. Two dimensional presentation is better for placing objects in one floor. Three dimensional presentation should provide overview of all floors. When the user add/removes/changes objects in MyObjects list, both views should be updated. Also when I select object in 2D view, the same object should be highlighted in 3D.
I'm new to WPF and it would be great to have some ideas or concept how to achieve this functionality.
Thanks in advance

An ObservableCollection is definitely what you want for the list as it will raise an event every time an object is added/removed/replaced. To highlight the object in both views, I would add a property like IsSelected and make the item template for both views be highlighted when IsSelected = true.
If you are needing some way to get the objects to position themselves in a Grid or some such thing, this post talked about doing something similar.

Thank you for your response. As recommended I looked at ObservableCollection and DataTemplate and it helped a lot. I also read this nice article which also explained a lot for me. But now I'm facing the problem how to place my objects in 2D (canvas?) and 3D (Viewport3D) according to x,y,z coordinates.
ListBox provides ItemSource property to bind the items Collection to the List Box. Should I use Canvas as container for MyObjects or other control?
My application should display MyObjects(nodes) which are connected together using edges. This would be representation of computer network. After selecting one node or edge, a property sheet/information would be shown according to node-edge type.

You might want to have a look at this
http://www.codeproject.com/KB/WPF/panel3d.aspx[^]
Each floor could be a 2D canvas control and then use the 3DPanel to view them all at once.
Doubt it will be easy though! (Especially the connectors)

I have implemented a Combobox which has datatemplate of ComboboxItems which includes checkboxes.Presently I am handling checkbox click event to make a list of checked items under combobox dropdownclosed event .ComboBox Text is updated with the list of selected checkbox content seperated by commas.
The problem is with Combobox selection changed event.Its not working in desired manner.When user selects an item, and hits "Enter" key,the ComboboxSelectionTextBox is not updating the text.
I need to either cancel the selection changed event or need to update the text according to User Selection.
Please advise better solution,Prompt reply is appreciated as it is quite urgent

Hello,
We are planning to migrate to WPF. For a few use cases, drawingspeed is an issue. Drawing 10'000 mostly static lines on a zoomable/panable canvas is about as much as I need. Using DrawingVisuals, the performance is not acceptable, because the initialization takes around 10 seconds (which is ridiculous). After the initalization, the paning/zooming works fine. Please have a look at my sample code and tell me which part is terribly wrong...
Pen pen = new Pen(Brushes.Red, 5);
Random random = new Random();
DrawingVisual visual = new DrawingVisual();
using (DrawingContext dc = visual.RenderOpen())
{
for (int i = 0; i < 10000; i++)
{
Point p1 = new Point(random.Next(0, 5000), random.Next(0, 5000));
Point p2 = new Point(random.Next(0, 100), random.Next(0, 100));
dc.DrawLine(pen, p1, new Point(p1.X - p2.X, p1.Y - p2.Y));
}
dc.Close();
}
MyCanvas.AddVisual(visual);
where MyCanvas is an overload of Canvas
using System.Collections.Generic;
using System.Windows.Controls;
using System.Windows.Media;
namespace WpfApplication1
{
public class DrawingCanvas : Canvas
{
private List<visual> _visuals = new List<visual>();
protected override int VisualChildrenCount
{
get
{
return _visuals.Count;
}
}
protected override Visual GetVisualChild(int index)
{
return _visuals[index];
}
public void AddVisual(Visual visual)
{
_visuals.Add(visual);
base.AddVisualChild(visual);
base.AddLogicalChild(visual);
}
}
}
</visual></visual>
thanks a lot.
regards.
mike.

I have a layout like this
<Canvas x:Name="LayoutRoot"...
<StackPanel...
<Rectangle...
<StackPanel...
<Image...
What I'd like to do is get the Top and Left of the image when the mouse enters it so I can position other elements. I've tried [ImageName].GetValue(Canvas.TopProperty); but it always returns 0.0. What's the trick here?

Hello,
You can use TransformToVisual method.
Example: http://www.cdn.pl/blog/post/2008/09/05/Silverlight-Tip-1-How-to-find-the-absolute-position-of-any-control-.aspx
