Good morning,
I need some help with a code in vbscript using mswinsock object, what am trying to do is to send a charater string to a server listening and get a response to that, the problem is that i can´t make the winsock object connect to the server, i cant make it in server code (php, asp, jsp) because this vbscript will be running in a IVR (interactive voice response) tha handles vbscript code, i can´t create a socket object in the IVR code because their lazy designers (sorry am not saying the brand of the IVR) say it is too complicated and instead they have an vbscript emulator for things like that, so i have to debug the vbscript code in a web page because it is easier, and once i have the script in the webpage running fine i can move it to the IVR, am posting the code to see if anyone has any idea of why the object isn´t connecting, and i know am being too restrictive but i can´t use anything but mswinsock because the client doesn´t want to use third party components because they are expensive and with the mswinsock it must work. By the way thanks in advance.
after a very long explanation here is the code:
<br />
<br />
<br />
<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xml:lang="en-US" lang="en-US"><br />
<head><br />
<title>New document</title><br />
<meta http-equiv="content-type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1" /><br />
<br />
<script type="text/vbscript"><br />
Sub socket()<br />
dim hostname<br />
dim port<br />
dim profesional<br />
dim recibir<br />
<br />
<br />
hostname = "192.168.1.32"<br />
puerto = 12013<br />
<br />
MsgBox("works until here")'<br />
set winsock = createobject("MSWINSOCK.Winsock")<br />
<br />
MsgBox("works until here 2")'<br />
puerto = 12013<br />
winsock.RemoteHost = hostname 'direccion ip del host remoto<br />
winsock.RemotePort = puerto 'numero del puerto por el que se envian los datos<br />
winsock.Connect<br />
<br />
MsgBox("works until here 3")'<br />
<br />
<br />
mensaje = "Sending test message"<br />
If winsock.State = sckConnected Then<br />
winsock.SendData profesional<br />
MsgBox("message sent")'<br />
else<br />
MsgBox("the socket isn´t connected")'<br />
End If<br />
End Sub<br />
'AES.SetReturnValue 0<br />
</script><br />
</head><br />
<body><br />
<br />
<br />
<button onclick="socket()">press here</button><br />
<br />
</body><br />
</html><br />

If you use SQL databases you should use SQL query for find them.
Like this :
SELECT DISTINCT * FROM tableName

Hi,
When is it wise to use em and px? If I want to have a spacer beneath my breadcrumbs, I set the width beneath it to 10px. Is it wiser to use em?

As far as I know :
When we use PX , the size of our texts is always fix.
But if we use em , the size of our texts is variable .

em is relative, px is absolute. If you have a person who uses 120dpi as their display resolution (96dpi is the norm) then px will look smaller. I think the recommendation is to use relative sizes so it is all the same size regardless of the device.

Hi coders,
I dont know if this question is suitable with this forum because I dont know my problem is causing because of ASP.NET or it is some CSS problem.
I am working on .NET 3.5. I have a .aspx page with lots of DIVs. When I run my project, it rus properly and displyed properly if my screen resolution is 1024*768... but when i change my screen resolution to any other value, some DIVs move here n their randomly. I couldnt figure out the reason after many tries. I am sure my HTML coding is perfect ( all DIVs and other tags are closed properly).
I would be thankful for any help and concern.

I think so , you couldn't use CSS codes as well.
These problems almost always occur when we didn't use CSS code as well.

I have an ASP.NET (2.0) site. I am on my dev box using V Studio 2008 and IIS. I have a separate User Control project that gets called from a javascript function in the default.aspx page. The User Control project is in another solution.
The application is running as expected. The user control is being called and all is well. Well not quite.
I am unable to step into the User Control project, i.e debug it. I can set breakpoints but they never get trapped. I can debug all other areas of the site both in script and code behind without any problems. The User control gets built in DEBUG to the same location as the default.aspx page.
Things i have already tried:
Enabled script debugging in IE.
Added the User Control project to the same web site solution
Attached debugger to running instance of IE from Visual Studio
Enabled debugging on the site.
Below is some sample code which should help:
default.aspx: (Cut down for brevity)
<body onload="LoadMethod()"style="background-color:#f4eedf; font-size: 12px; font-family: Verdana;margin:0 0 0 0;">
<object id="LoadControl" style="width: 1px; height: 1px" classid="Nice.Inform.Client.WebLoad.dll#Nice.Inform.Client.WebLoad.LoadControl">
<param name="ApplicationPath" value="ClientApps/NiceInform.exe" />
<asp:Literal ID="NewCodecVersion" runat="server"></asp:Literal>
<asp:Literal ID="CodecProductCode" runat="server"></asp:Literal>
</object>
<script type="text/javascript">
function LoadMethod()
{
try
{
LoadControl.Ping();
}
catch (e)
{
}
}
Please only give feedback if you have actually done this in practice.

There is a site www.rentacoder.com which have programmers and designers that you can pay very reasonable fees to that would be able to help.
You need to be looking at books on:
CSS,
DHTML,
Photoshop or Paint shop Pro.

I second what Carl said. Pick up a few books on the doing web design. Once you have it mastered well, then it is another skill you can add to your resume.

Hi!
you may already have this program or you may have photoshop (Which is More Powerful), but Paint.NET is a very easy-to-use yet powerful photo and image editor that you will surely get to grips with quickly. Get it here (It's Free).
Hopefully this will be a whole lot simpler to start off with (Compared to Photoshop (Which is expensive) or the GIMP (Which is quite complex)) but will retain the power you need. Please note that Paint.NET requires the .NET framework.
Hope This Helps!

What good would sending a website to a conference be? Surely it needs a person to be sent to the conference to demonstrate the website.
