I am not sure that the finally block will run here, because Response.Redirect moves control to another page. I could be wrong, but I suspect this is going to leave your connection open.
To show a specific set of data on your redirect, put the data you need to pull the info you need, on the query string.

Hello everyone
I have designed a web report with C# 3.5, but when I want to print it, it dosn't fit.
How can I set its [print] properties?
Please help me.
thank you.

The best way is to have a print view that comes up, which resizes the report to the size you want. No print formatting is possible in a web page.

Hi guys,
I have following problem:
I want to display two GridViews A, B one next to the other. So I've created a simple table with one row and two columns a put griview A into the left column and the GridView B into to right column:
<table>
<tr>
<td>
A
</td>
<td>
B
</td>
</tr>
</table>
I know that after items are loaded, the A will always be higher than B, so I would like to stretch B so it takes same amount of height as A. I've set the Height property on B to 100%:
<asp:GridView ID="B" runat="server" AutoGenerateColumns="False" Height="100%">
...
</asp:GridView>
But the B keeps the minimum height it requires to render all rows and won't stretch to same size as A. Note that A and B are in cells of the same row, so B has available height to strech to.
After some investigation I've discovered that by default, a GridView is a <table> encapsulated within a <div> . And its the div that prevents the table to stretch above its minimum required height. Is there a way how to tell ASP.NET to NOT render the (empty) <div> html tag around the table? Or change the behaviour of the <div> to not prevent table to be stretched to any available size?

Would anyone tell me, how to use __doPostBack.
how can we use it in client side code?
I understand that it helps to post the page from client side,
when setting up the AutoPostBack=true. But without
setting this property i would like to use __doPostBack. any replies are welcome.

It's a javascript method. You can call it from your script, same as the auto generated controls do.

Same way that your are doing using JavaScript .
But Register that function from codbehind using
ClientScript.RegisterStartupScript(this.GetType(), "Confirm",<br />
"<script>Confirm('" + Are You Sure ?+ "');</script>");<br />
or if use ajax in your page then ScriptManager instate of ClientScript

|

you can use Ajax confirm button extender for your situation when you will press ok it will run codebehind function related to that control....
using registerstartupscript it can display confirm message box in code behind but this script does not return any value so you cannot handle it using that....

You can't run a confirm box to branch the code in your code behind, obviously. If you're trying to confirm a button press, for example, then you put javascript directly in your aspx, and you call your javascript method in your OnClientClick. If OnClientClick returns false, then the OnClick is not called. If it returns true, then the OnClick is called.

by 'client' you mean that it worked when you tested it being served from your dev machine ?
This means you've failed to appreciate what code runs on the server and what runs on the client. Therefore, when they were the same machine, it worked. Once you deployed, it broke because your core issue is a misunderstanding of what ASP.NET is, what it does, and where the server/client barrier exists.
