scroll bar moves up as the image changes in the addrotator.what should be done to keep scroll wherever I want. The images are filled dynamically by XML file.
thanks

This is because when the image changes, the page postback and your browser window is refreshed.
so to avoid that you should use the AJAX Update Panel Control. and set the trigger of Update Panel. and after that your scroll bar will be not affected by image changes in addrotator.
you can find the video tutorial on ajax.asp.net website.

How can i get the functionality of IE browsers Previous and Next Button in Asp.net button.I used Javascripts History.back() but it works only for the same page.If the page chages it does not work.So How can I get this functionality.

You have to do it manually. One way is that you can use breadcrumbs for this.

Well, you can only use javascipt, unless you only want to move between pages in your own site, and history.back() should always work. Creating your own breadcrumbs works better, you can avoid going back to a postback on the same page that way, for example.

Don't you have these values (Status and Category) defined there in your database? Get these values from there itself.

From where u are geeting these Values 'Status' and 'CATAGORY' for
'STS' and 'CAT'
you have to assign these values to Text Field of ListItems of DropDownList

I have used httpd.ini file for ISAPIs in Classic asp which dynamically get the url for .asp file. How I can use this file with asp.net.
|
|
|
|

You can't. What does it do ? You can write HTTP handlers in ASP.NET.

These are html url for asp files when the name of the asp page match with the html url it get that url and the viewer doesn't see the original url. SEO also use prefer it in search point of view.
Example :
Rewrite /www.websitename/sitemap.html /sitemap.asp [I]
sitemap.asp is the original url while it will display sitemap.html.

You can use a http handler for that, I believe. You sure can't use an ini file from ASP.

AFAIK, ASP.NET don't have that. There are commercial libraries available which does IIS ISAPI rewriting. But easy way would be to use HttpModule and rewrite the URL. There are free libraries available like Urlrewriter.net. Try that

Usually when people ask this sort of stuff, they are pointing to a site that is using a java applet to do stuff that HTML, and therefore, ASP.NET cannot do.
It would help if you could explain exactly what you want to do. I don't have time to browser Orkut to try to work out what you're asking.

Design the datagrid with template columns. But I'd use a repeater control here which is more appropriate than datagrid.

Your problem is not clear. Are you anyhow using the file name in URL?
Apurva Kaushal

yes..My problem is i want to open a pdf file in a browser but the filename of the pdf contains "#". Are there any alternative ways in opening it on browser?
|
|
|
|
|
Why does the filename present a problem ? Where is the pdf coming from ?

You need to encode the URL in that case. Because # is an anchor symbol in the URL I guess.

Is a # allowed in a filename ? You view all PDFs the same, by passing them to the browser with the right content type so the browser knows how to open the data.

Try to encode the URL. When browser gets myfile#.pdf , it will look for a anchor tag with the name specified (in page links).
