You need to add the controls in page_init for viewstate to be restored. One way to do this is to use a hidden control to store the number of controls needed, and use a known naming protocol. Another is to have a finite number of possible employees and to show them rather than create them. A third is to store the data from the controls as text data such as XML, in a hidden control, and then use that to recreate/repopulate your controls.

Hi,
How do I apply my custom stylesheet to a master page so that it can be used across all pages that uses the master pages irrespective of where this page is located?
Thanks

The same way you'd do it in HTML.

The easiest is to create a theme and put the css file in it. Use the theme in the master page, and it will correctly add a link to the css file regardless of where the content page is.
Despite everything, the person most likely to be fooling you next is yourself.

There's a number of editors around on the web. Try googling for 'rich text' instead of 'ritch text'.

Hi,
I have a whole lot of projects in solution. I am using .NET 3.5. I just added a new website from a virtual directory to this solution. No I keep on getting the following error which I have never gotten before:
'/LM/W3SVC/1/ROOT/MyWebsite' is not a valid IIS application.
The name of the virtual directory is MyWebsite. The physical directory mapped to this virtual directual is called MyWebsite.Website.
Please can someone advise?
Thanks
Brendan

Hello,
I am currently developping a multilingual application using ASP.NET and I have some issues managing the different ressources (.resx) files linked to each of my aspx pages. Visual Studio 2008 allows me to regenerate the local ressources of a page but that function only apply the changes to the default .resx file. How can make sure the changes I do to my ressources files are applied everywhere?
Example: I have a page called "default.aspx", when I regenerate the local ressources, only the "default.aspx.resx" is updated and the "default.aspx.en.resx" and "default.aspx.es.resx" files are not. I expected that VS2008 could at least remove or add the ressources keys modified only leaving the translation job.
Thank you,

i am having a table with 15 rows and 10 columns in the backend for each user. It will be get updated every day by every user. I want to fetch the information from the DB and to show in the grid.
My question is in which way can show this data in the UI also tell me the best way to implement this.
I thought that i am going to create a value object, each row can use the same value object but when user clicks submit button how can we send this data to db.

I'm not sure what you're asking, but I get the impression you need to read a beginner book on ASP.NET, because at the core, you seem to be asking something very simple. The best way to show data in a grid is to databind to a collection of objects, or a datatable. You send data to the DB with code, hopefully in your data layer.

I didn't get your problems. From where data for textbox is coming?

The comma is not written any where. I am not filling it at all. This is something which comes after posting back the page.

There must be some typo mistake. If you want the same on postback put veiwstate as true n debug and check whether on every postback is there any modification in the value of textboxes.

Fix your code, I guess. Post some code here so we can try to work out why you're putting commas in the textboxes.
