<blockquote class="FQ"><div class="FQA">Member 4732425 wrote:</div>when i change the value of these variables at server side. then how to reflact these variables value at client side automatically.</blockquote>
I think you want to access Server side variable from Client Side
if yes then Try
<%= ServerSidevariable %>

how to print a text file on client side?
Please give me some idea regarding this.
Thanks in advance.
|
|

You can't. If it's on the client side, you have no access to their file system. Unless IE lets you launch a window with a local URL. In that case, you could display it, but they would have to print it.

Funny thing is, it's not urgent to us at all. Please don't say this, it's kind of rude.
You can iterate over the Controls collection of the page ( you need to do this recursively ) and then find the controls that are buttons using the 'is' or 'as' keywords, and grab just their ids.

hi,
I am using one user control to display some values in my Gridview. It displays the values at the initial page load, but the postback event the values of the user control is vanished. how can i track this problem.I am using the following code
<asp:TemplateField >
<ItemTemplate>
<uc2:MyControl ID="MC1" runat="server" EnableViewState ="true" causevalidation="false" CommandArgument='<%# CType(Container, GridViewRow).RowIndex %>' CommandName='<%# Eval("JWord") %>' OnBubbleCommand="gvMeaning_RowCommand"/>
</ItemTemplate>
</asp:TemplateField>
<asp:TemplateField >
<ItemTemplate>
<asp:LinkButton ID="lb1" Text='<%# Eval("JWord") %>' runat="server" CommandArgument='<%# CType(Container, GridViewRow).RowIndex %>' CommandName='<%# Eval("JWord") %>'></asp:LinkButton>
</ItemTemplate>
</asp:TemplateField>
I am passing the same values to one linkbutton, it is working well.It retains its values after post back.Problem is only with my user control.
Please help..Thanks in advance.

Is your control databound ? Do you bind the data again on postback ?

Yes ..i bind it again on postback!
|
|
|
|

EVery time you bind, all viewstate is lost. Bind in a if(!IsPostback) block, to only bind on first load, and then your viewstate will not be lost.

Hi ,
My requirement is to display Japanese words and its meaning in a gridview.
Each alphabet(Chinese kanji) of the japanse word has its own meaning.So if a user click any one of the alphabet of the word it should display the meaning of that alphabet and few words which uses that particular alphabet. so i made a user control in which i dynamically loading the LinkButton to display the word. So one word constitute a group of "LinkButton". It work fine at initiall page load event but unfortunately it is not working postback event and also not working the RowCommand event.
Please help me..Looking forwar to hear from you..Thanks in advance

Hi,
We purchased a billing management software application, Time Live by Livetecs. We bought the source code.
The program is in ASP.NET / VB.NET, it uses Component One Tools for its reporting.
We have been able to modify the code quite a bit to get this program where it needs to be with one detail that we just cannot figure out.
We need a report that pulls data from two tables or vues, one is the time entry table and the other is the expense entry table.
We need the report to show expenses along with time for each day on one report.
We are looking for someone expierenced with Visual Studio 2008 and Component One Reports to assist us.
If this is you, contact me at fenhow@yahoo.com and we can discuss the project.
I can send the full source code and we can negotiate price.
Thanks.

Hi all:
I am a project manager for a large (very) project. I am assigned the task of creating plain text version of web pages by removing <> and send to legal dept for review. Is there an automated way to do this ? The number of documents is very large - in excess of 1000. Thank you.

You could do this with a regex and with C# code ( this is not an ASP.NET question ) that requests each page and then writes the text. One would hope there's an easy way to discover the 1000 pages, perhaps by adding code that finds and pursues links ?

*grin* I was just reading through the forums and thinking you seem especially bitter this morning. Most of the questions are ridiculous, but still, have you had a bad day, or are you just worn down by the flood of homework questions ?

I'm so misunderstood. I let my creative flair govern my replies, not my mood.
Ok, I admit it, I have no creative flair. However I also have almost no emotion so i don't think it has anything to do with my mood. I can't really explain, maybe it has mostly to do with how I interpret, or read between the lines of, the loser posts. Interpreting text messages is fairly inaccurate due to the lossieness. No expressions, body language, tone.
