Why in this way ? You can Change the UpdateMode to Conditional and update the panel as UpdatePanel2.Update(),

actually i want to refresh update panel from javascript not from server side...
updatepanel.update() is server side code.

No.
Your Requirement is to update only updatepanel2 which is inside updatepanel1.
So, You can just simple do it.
Set The UpdateMode property of Both the panel to "Conditional" and then you can update any one of them when you wish by UpdatePanel1.update() or Updatepanel2.update()
It will update only particular panel. You don't need any JavaScript for that.

actually i it is my limitation i m assigning some texbox and dropdown values from javascript so in such a case i need to update that panel from javascript server side is not my requirement

When you are updating your post, don't erase original one. It can make the person wrong who answer it.
You had Written some thing like that
"is updatepanel.update() is javascript function " and I said No.
But now you have change your post totaly.

For refreshing updatepanel using Javascipt use _doPastBack as

not on any click event i just want to raise it like __dopostback('updatepanelname','');
and actually which update panel i want to refresh through javascript is in another update panel and iusing syntax given above refreshes given update panel but also clears values of controls like textboxes which are placed inside parent update panel.
that is what i am facing right now and another thing when i remove parent update panel everthing works fine with full post back but i want to use parent ajax update panel aswell

Hi All,
Being a novice in and have learned C# / ASP.NET for the past year , i would like to find out what is required to start up a good website.
Is there a checklist of things that I need to be able start a website for an idea I have, or is it better that I wait a few years after a few years experience and then pursue that path. Is there such a checklist for things that have to be met when designing a website, and if so what are they?

If my coding skills are not superior then does it still matter?

It matters when you are developing a website for a customer which is going to help them for their business or something like that. But it doesn't really matter if you are doing it for learning. And that is the best way to learn things.

Well, I would say that so long as you're willing to learn, and remember you can ask questions here when you get stuck, the only way it matters is that it might take you a bit longer than someone more experienced to get things the way you want them to. The core thing is that you have a great idea and the willingness to work until your execution of that idea is to a good standard.

Well, it depends. Do you want your page to reload when you change a selection ? If so, write that in page prerender, I guess.
