Because my Server 2008 is running inside the virtual PC, I cannot debug it the normal way.
Is there other way to find out why the service is not doing as like when it is running in XP??
|

No, you are utterly, utterly wrong. You can install VS in your virtual PC and debug it exactly as I said.

"The breakpoint will not currently be hit. No symbols have been loaded for this document."
Pls advise why I get this ????
I'm also not able to step through my code !!!

Ask the people who wrote that library and consult the documentation on your phone, and/or see if there is an SDK for your phone.
The question, as you've asked it, is impossible to answer because you haven't supplied any detail as to the O/S your phone is using, modem of the phone, what software it's running, where you got that .DLL from, the doc's on it, nothing...

Send the appropriate command to the COM port the modem is connected to (Hint: System.Io.Ports namespace) and parse the response. I haven't used a modem in about 12 years, so I couldn't tell you what the command is. Consult the documentation on the modem.

No VB6 code is going to work in VB.NET, it's a whole new language.
System.IO is the namespace you need.
Directory.GetFiles will get you the files in a directory. Or Folder.GetFiles, one or the other, I forget. Then the FileInfo class is how you get info about a file, such as it's size and last modified date.

The Replace method on the string class can replace the $ with an empty string. Then you can use double.TryParse.

Along with the other suggestions, you could try Double.Parse with the overload that takes a System.Globalization.NumberStyles and choose AllowCurrencySymbol. If you care about working for other currencies than just $, this may be your best bet.

To do this across your whole computer, you need to write a system wide keyboard hook. I doubt VB can do this. To do it in your app, just ignore the keys when pressed.

I think it is possible actually, I saw an article on CP even, yep here it is Click[^]. You'll need to do some modifying but it's all there in the article comments. Just hook Keys.ControlKey etc etc etc and handle them however you want.

You might mention that you are using VB6 - then everyone can ignore your post. There are very few developers using VB6 - it's been a dead language for some years.

That is stupid, it will just get you spam. You will get an email whenever anyone answers your post, anyhow.
Also, as someone else said, VB6 is a dead language, why would you use it ? It was always crap, but it's been unsupported for years.

use string.Replace("'", "''") to fix your strings,or just use stored procs, or parameterised queries, which do this for you.
