Sir , After Restoring the form , I am minimizing the form , Now I am going to click the button to open the same form , system shall find that the user is trying to open the duplicate instance , Now , How should i change the window state to Restore as the window state is presently minimized ?

you're saying it maximises, right ? Well, you actually can change the window state, simply by setting it, it's a property on the form. But, I also mean you can handle it maximising and right away restore it.

I am from holland and i am busy with a MSN program that will give users Free extra msn options.
well that was about me now the question.
I want to give ability to change the MSN-Email adress that msn(chatters) will see.
*for example i am chatting the contact will see msnemail@msn.com
*Now the program needs to set the fake Email or a message instead of my msnemail@msn.com adress.
if my user name was: USERNAME
and if my personal message was: PERSONALMESSAGE
and if my email was: msnemail@msn.com
when a chat window is opened the contact will read on the top as following

AFAIK you can't spoof your email address on msn messenger, nor could I see a legitimate use to do so. No help will be given for such a illegitimate use.

You can't show the Form from the background worker. You have to show it from the UI thread, then update it from the background worker.

This happens when connection is wireless, but in LAN connectivity its works smoothly. M using Microsoft Outlook on my machine. Trying pinging the SMTP server before you try to send your mail. It could be that, over your wireless network, you don't have a good IP route to the server.

Enough with the TXTSpeak. It makes your posts harder to read. You've got a 101-key keyboard in front you. Use it.
Since you'e got a good IP route to the SMTP server, there's really nothing you can do in code to get around the problem. The server is denying the connection from it's end, not yours.

I have an application that resides on a LAN and has connections to a SQL database. Obviously, on the server machine (where sql server is loaded) the application program (designed in VB.net) works fine .But when i try to run the same aplication from client machine (access SQL server) the apllication becomes very slow.
What all the precosions need to be taken to take care of application speed in Client- server based applications.
Clients consist of both XP. RAM 512 MB.

Your Question is broad, there can be many things that can make the Application to be Slow, we dont know your environment. But on the Application side mybe it will be better to explain slowness you are talking about. Is it slow in all the parts of the System or on certain parts, for example, is it slow when to connect to the database ? Something like that try to explain, any mybe post code that connects to the datase or it mybe the database side we dont know

I think he has a VB exe but no source code and would like to 'reverse-engineer' the exe to get the source code back. If this is correct then I'm not sure if it's possible.

You can disassemble it to get a start I believe, unless he means he wants to convert it to native code so he doesn't have to go through the JIT compiler (or require the .net framework in case I got that abbreviation wrong), in which case I don't think thats possible.

you should have switched to VB.NET a long time ago; that way you could decompile and get something that resembles the original source file.

If you are doing in vb use this
step 1: Goto file -> make project1.exe
after complied. go to this path.
Step 2:
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio\VB98\Wizards\PDWizard\PDCMDLN.EXE
then select Project File after that press Package.
Then that will guide till end of creation setup file.

Hi there.
I have a form with 3 combo boxes on, each with a random number of items in them.
What I am trying to do is to let the user select items from the combo boxes and then generate the sql query based on what they had selected, i would then want to display the results of this query in a datagrid view.
I am fairly sure i will need to use a sproc to pass parameters for the fields i will need from the app to the database but i am pretty much a vb novice and have only recently started using sql connections through it.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
