I have an entity object with datetime and decimal properties ,from which I generate an XML,is a source to PDF file generation.
XmlWriter using neutral culture while writing XML file.
when user changes cultureinfo other than english,entity's decimal properties should change with culture specific numberformatinfo.
1> in xslt file I am tring to parse string to decimal,throwing error input string not in valid format.As parsing in new culture specific and string coming with english language.
If I can write XML with laguage specific so that even decimal values(numberformat) will change with cultureinfo

Just uploading, or publishing, it would not change it from ASP to ASP.NET
only two letters away from being an asset

Yes, you publish an ASP.NET application to the server you intend it to run on.

I have a vague recollection of reading about a bug that was fixed in ASP.NET with regard to the action attribute on the form tag. You might want to check that you are using the same version of the .NET Framework on both machines.
Out of curiousity, why are you posting back to a classic ASP page anyway?

Sorry i am really a newbie and this is the only way i know how.
Could you tell me the alternative?

The alternative to what? Posting back to a classic ASP page?
Normally (as in every ASP.NET web application I've worked on) you post back to the page you are on which does some processing then redirects the client browser to the page you want to display.

sorry yes i meant the alternative to a classic asp page.
So i should move the processing back to the same page and only redirect the client browser when i have validated the info they have entered.

How do you distinguish between classic asp and asp?

"Classic ASP" is "ASP". The word "classic" is used to emphasise the difference from ASP.NET because some people are lazy and call both "ASP"

Yes, probably. But why do you have a classic ASP page anyway? It is that movement from ASP.NET to classic ASP that makes me add the "probably".

does a classic asp page have a .asp extension and a asp.net page have a .aspx extension?
If so the page is asp.net not classic asp.

but the page i was posting to is classic asp with a dot asp extention.
Thanks for bearing with me and its explaining things for me. Sometimes you learn lots

Yes, you are on an ASP.NET (.aspx) page and you are currently trying to post back to a classic ASP (.asp) page.

Hi,
I am having problems using the itextsharp.dll in my asp.net application. Per my research the problem is that the dll requires Full trust mode whereas my hosting service runs in medium trust mode. Is there a work around for it?
Thanks,

hi friends,
i have control panel, and registred users.
i have 2 folders, 1 for system admins, second for registred users.
They are using same login window. if users are admin type they are redirecting admin panel, if the registred users are loged they are also redirecting another folder.
Question is that,
How i can give special permission to admins to access only 1 folder?
i autenciated user but registred user can access also admin files.
webconfing file for general as;
<authentication mode="Forms">
<forms loginurl="Login.aspx"></forms>
</authentication>
this one for admins under the Admin Files;
<authorization>
<allow roles="Administrators" />
<deny users="*" />
</authorization>
Thanks for any replying<pre></pre>

Using ASP.net, how can I get the field, amount, to be calculated and populated when the qty and price fields have been populated ? I want to do this on the client side, so there is no server round trip.
Is there some elegant method that I can use the Custom Validator to perform a side-effect of updating the amount field ? I'm trying to stay within the boundaries of ASP.net; I realize I could probably solve this with Javascript, but I want to see if it can be done with the tools provided by Microsoft.
I would also like to see how this can be done with JavaScript. I'm trying to write my first ASP.net application and I'm finding how hard it is to do things that are trivial in a Windows application.

ASP.NET is a mostly server side framework for writing web applications. Any client side aspects of ASP.NET are written in javascript.
If you want stuff done on the client side you'll have to do it in javascript.

Hi,
I have successfully implemented insert/update logic in my SSIS pacakge.
If a new project id is found in the source file then I insert a new row in the database table. If an existing project id is found then I update the corresponding row in the table.
The above logic work fine but not in case if there is multiple identical project ids in the source file. The update logic fails in this case. I though of deleting and then inserting the rows for update logic but could not do so. Can anyone help.
I am using lookup control and contional split control for identifing the existence of a new row or existing row.
