Well, I would be reading on how to interact with a serial or USB port and looking for hardware that supports those ports and the methods you find. There's at least one article like that on serial ports on CP.

How to copy selected (s) textfield which those selected through checkbox
I like to copy in clipboard. Access textfield data when front of the textfield checkbox is checked if not checked it should not copy in clipboard.
If text field has data like that
altaf/ahmed mr one field checked
altaf11@yahoo.com one field checked
ca gf767577 ca 17-may-60 M 12-mar-12 six field checked with one checkbox

My windows application needs to be able to connect to dbf files. The target computer will be Windows XP and Vista. Microsoft only has ODBC drivers for Windows 2000. Is there an ODBC driver available or better yet, is there a .Net driver that does not use ODBC?
And you DBF file is what, a DBase file?? What's the database engine that uses your DBF's?? Without knowing that, you're stuck. You have to use either ODBC (not the best choice at all), or OleDb.
The dbf file is a Visual FoxPro 8.0 file. Is there a OleDb driver or something else available?
OleDB is about the only thing you've got to use. CHeck out the System.Data.OleDb namespace.

im a beginner at VB.net or something that smell proggraming.. Big Grin
But i wanna learn it. I saw how to make an ultimate player.
It says like this :
(First, you must insert a Media Player Control in your form (Note: If you cannot find the control, look under "Com Components" in the "Choose Toolbox Items" menu). Now the Media Player will have its own controls, so to design your own, you will have to remove these by setting the UiMode to none.)
but i cant find Media Player Control at Com Components in Choose Items.
And i cant find UiMode too.... Frown
Please Help Me!!!

hi all

please provide me help for this.

If you need to interact with a specific piece of hardware, the first place you should be looking is to the hardware vendor. The second thing you should realise is that, unless the hardware vendor supplies a high level API, you're going to have to do this in C or C++.
The hardware company provides the SDK with the hardware. but it is readymade software attached with it. but i want hardware to be connect with my application. i have their exe and dll. but i think they have made it using vc++. can i have any software that can convert this dll or exe into code ???
or is there any such class of .net that can interact with these kind of hardware ??
THANKS........

Thanks dear.
but i m not able to use that api.
because when i m adding that dll to my .net application reference it giving me error.
or may be i dont know how to use their api.
can u pls guide me little bit.
thank u very much.

Adding a reference only works with COM-based libraries. This one, apparently, is not of that type, so you'll have to call all the functions it exposes using P/Invoke.
Thank you so much.
I am checking it now with p/invoke.
hope it works.
ok. i found p/invoke.
but still i am not able to connect device to my application.
i am not much aware of use of p/invoke...
can anyone please give me a example how to use dll in p/invoke?

ok. now is it possible to use biometric device over web.
i want to connect my fingerprint machine to my website.
can anyone know the activex or dll that supports to webpage??
The only way this would work is if the client machine had the drivers for the fingerprint reader installed, an ActiveX control that interfaced with it (don't know of any so you'd probably have to write your own using C++), and browser settings relaxed enough to give any LAN Admin a heart attack.

Hi,
I m creating a crystal report (version 8.5) using ms-access database and calling it from visual basic 6.0
The report has been generated and is working fine but the problem is the first page of the report comes blank. i.e. it only shows the report header and the rest of the things like group header, details and all comes on the second page.
If anyone has any idea to this ???
Crystal Reports is a POS
VB6 is a dead language (good riddance) and will not be supported on the next version of windows. You need to look at rewriting your app into a current language URGENTLY.
Sorry I can't help I have not used it in 8 YEARS!!!!!!!
