Hello!
I am using icons on a tabPage. I editor the icons looks perfekt and all (32bit) colors a visible. But when I start the application the colors of the icons looks like 256 color settings. I have created a new imageList and changed color depth to 32 bit, my images are 24x24. I also use these images on buttons and inside the toolBar and there all the colors are displayed correct.
Maybe someone of you has the same problem? I have searched for several days and tried a lot but nothing helped.

I have a two part question. I'm using assembly to pop objects off the stack I've placed there for later acquisition. These are actual commands, i.e. NOP or 90h, and I'd like to take the AX or whatever register I pop it into and execute that register as if it were the said command, i.e. NOP. I know some commands this wouldn't be possible so my next question pertains directly to windows, where as this one indirectly, my issue is if I pop if off the stack I could either execute it now or place it into memory and execute it from there, but I dont know how to do that either. I've tried to execute it from external sources and windows prevents me from doing this. How could I execute from RAM the said instructions from the stack, and I did keep a running count of how many I've placed on the stack so as to avoid overflow. Does anyone have any words of wisdom? I'm certain I've forgotten to mention some important piece of information so please ask if you have questions before answering.
Both questions do pertain to windows because I don't know how windows allocates and controls ram and I don't wish to over write or effect other running or TSR processes (I know TSRs no longer exist, but it's good as an example).

Hi,
assembly code is not beginner's stuff, and doing it under the wings of an Operating System that is supposed to protect everything makes it even more challenging.
It is still unclear to me what your overall intentions are. Knowing so might help everyone in providing adequate replies.
Here are some pointers anyway:
1.
Putting assembly code (that is CPU instructions) on the stack is a very bad idea. What you can do
is allocate a memory buffer of sufficient size, fill it with a valid sequence of instructions,
then jump to it from within your higher-level language (e.g. a C program).
2.
It is easier to call assembly in an unmanaged environment (as in C or C++/MFC) as opposed to a
managed environment (.NET, C#, ...).
3.
To make it fit in a high-level program, the skeleton of your assembly code should best be identical to
what a compiler in your environment generates for an (almost) empty function.
4.
I strongly suggest you study the code your compiler generates for lots of test cases; turn off
optimization as much as possible (so you can recognize the instructions corresponding to each
high-level statement).
5.
Whatever your final intentions are, start with easy functions; executing a NOP instruction does not qualify since you can hardly judge it. When experimenting with some new interface (e.g. P/Invoke) my typical first functions are: square an int, add two ints, calculate the length of a string, etc.

Hi all!
In today's newsletter I saw a wonderful tool for creating databound web pages automatically, namely Iron Speed Designer. Does anybody know of a similar application for winforms development?
Thnx!

If you don't provide an adequate solution pretty soon, it will become VERY URGENT.

Yep, tolerance is what we need most to preserve our own sanity around here.

You could edit your other post instead of posting twice you know. Also, no one will do your work for you. Do some research[^] and you might get some results[^] that will help[^] you along your way.[^]

i hav done the project in vb.net and backend as SQL Server 2000.
my connection string is
"Integrated Security=SSPI;Persist Security Info=False;Initial Catalog=cyber;Data Source=MASTER"
here MASTER is my server name.
When i instal it in another computer i need to change my computer name to get my server name
Is there any solution to install the project with out change the server name.

if you want to use local sql server named as machine,
and if the sqlserver installed on this machine as default instance then you can use either ComputerName or "." , this means that you can user only (.) instead of (Master), but this may not work exactly wherever, but in most case that only one instance of sqlserver installed on target machine or you have an instance with the same name of target machine this method work correctly.

hi i need help creating dynamic array button for my panel

Depending on the number of records you're talking about, this can get out hand VERY quickly. You have to keep track of each button you create, wire up the event handlers you're going to need, and then, upon data refreshes, disconnect the event handlers, destroy the previous set of buttons and then create a new set.
Creating controls is expensive. Redrawing all those controls is, also, very expensive. The more controls you have, the longer it'll take your form to draw itself. So, if these buttons are going to end up in a scrolling environment, you may find that, with an increasing number of controls, scrolling performance slows down, dramatically.
To create a new Button:
Button newButton = new Button();
newButton.Location = new Point(x, y);
newButton.Size = new Size(100, 50);
newButton.Text = "Some Caption";
... blah, blah, blah ...
btnvalveselect[index] = newButton;
this.Controls.Add(newButton);
|
|
|
|
|
yes i know how to create the button but i dont know how to make the btnvalveselect[index] dynamic
as
is there like a redim function?
or dynamic way to create it so that it have no limit to the size it can hold?
