I am having trouble on calling a function on my code behind.. here's my code..
MPEConfirm = New AjaxControlToolkit.ModalPopupExtender<br />
Dim popup As LiteralControl = New LiteralControl<br />
PnlConfirm = New Panel<br />
btnConOK = New Button<br />
btnConCancel = New Button<br />
'asp panel for modal popup<br />
With PnlConfirm<br />
.ID = "PnlConfirm"<br />
.CssClass = "modalPopup"<br />
.Attributes.Add("Style", "display: none")<br />
.Height = 100<br />
.Width = 233<br />
End With<br />
<br />
With btnConOK<br />
.ID = "btnConOK"<br />
.CssClass = "Buttons"<br />
.Text = "Yes"<br />
.Width = 50<br />
End With<br />
arrbtnConOK(l) = btnConOK<br />
AddHandler btnConOK.Click, AddressOf btnConOK_Click<br />
<br />
With btnConCancel<br />
.ID = "btnConCancel"<br />
.CssClass = "Buttons"<br />
.Text = "No"<br />
.Width = 50<br />
End With<br />
AddHandler btnConCancel.Click, AddressOf btnConCancel_Click<br />
<br />
popup = New LiteralControl("<br /><div align='center'>")<br />
PnlConfirm.Controls.Add(popup)<br />
'popup = New LiteralControl("<span style='font-size:10px;color:white;font-family:Verdana'>Are you sure you want to continue without saving?</span><br /><br />")<br />
'PnlConfirm.Controls.Add(popup)<br />
popup = New LiteralControl("<span style='font-size:10px;color:white;font-family:Verdana'>Do you want to save the changes that you made?</span><br /><br />")<br />
PnlConfirm.Controls.Add(popup)<br />
PnlConfirm.Controls.Add(btnConOK)<br />
popup = New LiteralControl(" ")<br />
PnlConfirm.Controls.Add(popup)<br />
PnlConfirm.Controls.Add(btnConCancel)<br />
popup = New LiteralControl("</div>")<br />
PnlConfirm.Controls.Add(popup)<br />
<br />
For l = 0 To dt.Rows.Count - 1<br />
<br />
imgExpand = New ImageButton<br />
With imgExpand<br />
.ID = "imgExpand_" & l<br />
.ImageUrl = "~/Files/images/expand_blue.gif"<br />
.CommandName = l<br />
.CommandArgument = dt.Rows(l)("core_id")<br />
End With<br />
AddHandler imgExpand.Click, AddressOf imgExpand_Click<br />
<br />
'modalpopup extender<br />
With MPEConfirm<br />
.ID = "MPEConfirm" & l<br />
.TargetControlID = "imgExpand_" & l<br />
.PopupControlID = "PnlConfirm"<br />
.BackgroundCssClass = "modalBackground"<br />
'.OkControlID = "btnConOK"<br />
'.CancelControlID = "btnConCancel"<br />
End With<br />
arrMPEConfirm(l) = MPEConfirm<br />
PnlCoreComp.Controls.Add(imgExpand)<br />
PnlCoreComp.Controls.Add(arrMPEConfirm(l))<br />
Next<br />
PnlCoreComp.Controls.Add(PnlConfirm)
i disabled okControlID and CancelControlID to be able to disregard the client script and the button would go directly to the function on my code behind.. my problem is, my function won't trigger even if i added event handler on my button.. any idea?

Have you tried defining your UI in the aspx instead of through code ?

I've only tried making a single modalpopup on my ui and it's working properly.. the same logic in using it on my code behind.. can't locate where the problem is..

I'm trying to figure out a way to change the default printer in VB.NET. I remember in VB6 changing registry settings in order to change the default window printer. I was hoping there was an easier way to do it in VB.NET. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Use WMI
Public Shared Function SetDefaultPrinter(ByVal PrinterName As String) As Boolean
'Declare WMI Variables
Dim MgmtObject As ManagementObject
Dim MgmtCollection As ManagementObjectCollection
Dim MgmtSearcher As ManagementObjectSearcher
Dim ReturnBoolean As Boolean = False
'Perform the search for printers and return the listing as a collection
MgmtSearcher = New ManagementObjectSearcher("Select * from Win32_Printer")
MgmtCollection = MgmtSearcher.Get
'Enumerate Objects To Find Printer
For Each MgmtObject In MgmtCollection
'Look for a match
If MgmtObject.Item("name").ToString = PrinterName Then
'Set Default Printer
Dim TempObject() As Object 'Temporary Object for InvokeMethod. Holds no purpose.
MgmtObject.InvokeMethod("SetDefaultPrinter", TempObject)
'Set Success Value and Exit For..Next Loop

Exit For
End If
Next
'Return Success Value
Return ReturnBoolean

Actually I just go it but thanks anyways. However it still didn't correct the actually problem I was having. I'm trying to print Excel files to PDFs. Since my company won't but Adobe Acrobat to get the Adobe PDF printer I went and downloaded the CutePDF Writer to try. Now if I open up an Excel file and print it to the CutePDF it works fine. The PDFs work and are formatted correctly. However when I try to print Excel files to this printer from my code the generates the PDF files with the correct file name, however all the files are 0 KB and therefore won't open. Originally I just tried to have Excel print to that printer, now I've tried change the default printer to the CutePDF before I begin any printing, and I've also tried to leave a 10 second delay between printing to give enough time for the printer to finish, however in all these circumstances the PDFs are always 0 KB. This is really frustrating and is the only thing holding up the deployment of the program. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Ok, just for future reference, try not to delete your question even if you found the solution. People are sometimes directed to search the forums for questions that can be common, and a better step would be (if you found a solution to your own problem) is to post your solution so others can view it.

Sorry about that...I put it back...and thanks again.

Hello All,
This is my First Message. I am writing code using which user can do mailmerge in Open Office.The code is in Vb.Net.
I am facing Error "{"com.sun.star.sdbc.SQLException: "}".
The Code is as shown below:
Public Sub OpenOfficeMail(ByVal StrFilter As String)
Dim oSM ''Root object for accessing OpenOffice from VB
Dim oDesk, oDoc As Object ''First objects from the API
Dim arg(-1)
''Instanciate OOo : this line is mandatory with VB for OOo API
oSM = CreateObject("com.sun.star.ServiceManager")
''Create the first and most important service
oDesk = oSM.createInstance("com.sun.star.frame.Desktop")
''Create a new doc
oDoc = oDesk.loadComponentFromURL("private:factory/swriter", "_blank", 0, arg)
''Close the doc
oDoc.Close(True)
oDoc = Nothing
''Open an existing doc (pay attention to the syntax for first argument)
oDoc = oDesk.loadComponentFromURL("file:///C:\Users\Savan\Documents\1.odt", "_blank", 0, arg)
Dim t_OOo As Type
t_OOo = Type.GetTypeFromProgID("com.sun.star.ServiceManager")
Dim objServiceManager As New Object
objServiceManager = System.Activator.CreateInstance(t_OOo)
Dim oMailMerge As New Object
oMailMerge = t_OOo.InvokeMember("createInstance", Reflection.BindingFlags.InvokeMethod, Nothing, _
objServiceManager, New [Object]() {"com.sun.star.text.MailMerge"}) 'com.sun.star.text.MailMerge"})
oMailMerge.DocumentURL = "file:///C:\Users\Savan\Documents\1.odt"
oMailMerge.DataSourceName = CreateSource(StrFilter)''Calling Function to return Txt file which will be used as datasource
oMailMerge.CommandType = 0
oMailMerge.Command = "file:///C:\Mail.txt"
oMailMerge.OutputType = 2
oMailMerge.execute(New [Object]() {}) '"com.sun.star.text.MailMerge"})----->Here i am gettting error.
End Sub
It is very Urgent Issue..So any help would be very appriciated.

Im trying to look visually at a folder structure that has been designed within SQL Databases and Table's but am having problems working out how to organise the data to make it work with a 'TreeView' within VB.NET 2005.
Basically, i have 6 Databases on one SQL server. Within Each Database is a table Called dbo.Folders
The Database contains the comumbs, whereby Every folder is given a Folder ID (not unique across the wole SQL server, only across the Database) It also Tells you what its parent folder is, an its Folder Name.
i.e.
-Folder 1
|-Folder 1-1
| |-Folder 1-1-1
|-Folder 1-2
|-Folder 1-3
| |-Folder 1-3-1
| |-Folder 1-3-2
|-Folder 1-4
Folder ID Parent ID Folder Name
1 -1 Folder 1
2 1 Folder 1-1
3 2 Folder 1-1-1
4 1 Folder 1-2
5 1 Folder 1-3
6 5 Folder 1-3-1
7 5 Folder 1-3-2
8 1 Folder 1-4
Any thoughts on how i might achieve this? as i said, im not sure on weather to have all the databases shown on one treeview, or have a Tab or something to select the Database.
|
|
|
|
|
The easiest way to do this on VB side is to create a little method that adds all folders at the same level and call it recursively for each folder added to add child folders.
If you want you can add each database as a root node and start recursion from there.

Anoop learns the googlemachine![^] (only 1.8 million hits, they should really stop hiding all that information in google)
Just reread your post. You want to be able to spoof the sender's number? Don't think to much help will be given on that one, AFAIK this one isn't all to possible. Might be a good start here?[^]
