Not possible. The .DLL file can be copied when your app isn't running. There's nothing you can do to prevent it from being copied. Why? Because if you prevent the file from being read (that's all a copy operation is), the app won't be able to read it either and execute the code in it.

Hi
I have developed an application with .net framework 2.0 using C#.
Is it possible to run this application on third party machines without the need to install the .net Framework?
Thanks

Thank you, I checked the Xenocode PostBuild and it seems it could fix the problem, but it is way too expensive, isn´t there something cheaper?

Nope. Every one I've seen is $1,000 or more.

What is PostBuild's reputation? Is there something that is considered better?

Hell if I know. I don't use them, nor do I recommend doing so.

First and foremost, Service Packs for the .NET Frameworks. Every one of them has had at least one so far. The service packs cannot be applied to the application once "baked" by one of these utilities.
Second, depending on how much of the framework your app is using, they can generate massive .EXE's for deployment. And, if you have a bunch of these apps built with the .NET Framework baked into each, the collection can suddenly have the same framework multiple times for each .EXE.
I've heard of problems or total non-functionality of Reflection with some them, though I haven't bothered to test these claims either way.

Normally, it's not possible. It is is you buy third party tools, that cost upwards of a couple of thousand dolloars, that compile the required .NET Framework pieces into your app.

Yes, you can run C# applications without the .NET framework installed, but only if you have the MONO framework installed.

Hi,
I'm a winform aplication, and i have a problem with buttons shortcuts, for example i have a button with name &Ok and if a press alt+o or o the button action is fired. The probem is that i just want used the shortcut alt+o and disable the other. I know that i want catch the keypress event but i like to known if exists other way to do that.
AFAIK there's no other option than handle the keypress. However, the shotcut key (O in this case) shouldn't fire the button click unless the focus is on the button. If focus is somewhere else, only Alt+O fires the click.
The problem is the click button event is fired even the focus is in another control unless the control is a textbox. For example if the focus is in a radiobutton and i click in key "o" the click event is fired.
This was a bit surprise for me also but it seems that way. Many of the controls don't behave like this (combo box, listbox, listview etc) but radio button does. Also it doesn't matter which button has the focus. Still plain O will fire the click.
Since thise controls behave like that, I'm not certain that handling keypress will actually help. I think the only option may be to use KeyPreview and handle mnemonic characters centralized on the form.

I am not sure if this is possible at all, but lets say I have a listview with one item in it and I also have a textbox on the same form. Is there any way programmatic way make is so that the visible text in the listview item (listview1.item[0].text) is bound to the the text of a textbox? So, if I type a name into the textbox, it automatically updates the listview? Or, do I need to update the listview every time the text in the textbox changes? Someone told me how to do it with databindings and a listbox, but I need to use a listview.
Try something like this:
textBox1.DataBindings.Add(new System.Windows.Forms.Binding("Text",
this.listView1.Items[0],
"Text",
true));

helu... can we jus load a windows theme .msstyle and skin our windows form ... is there any support like that....thans...
That depends on what you mean by "skinning". If you mean change the appearance of forms, other than their colors, no, Windows has no native support for that.
You'd have to use a third party skinning control in your apps forms and supply whatever graphic object are required to get the effect you want.

Hi All,
Good Moning,
I have read the article from "http://www.codeproject.com/KB/miscctrl/GMapNET.aspx"
I am trying to use GMap.dll in my windows application project,to display locations in google map.
I am able to get the lat and longs for perticular address by using GMap.dll,and able to store those lat and longitutes into database, however I am not able to display those lat and longs in to Map.
Can anyone please guide me how to display lat and longitute in Map view?
I am using the below code to get lat and longs:
MainMap.GetLatLngFromGeocoder("2334 Fuller way, Tucker, GA - 30084").ToString();
and I try to display the reusultant lat and logs as below:
MainMap.CurrentPosition = new PointLatLng(33.853907, 84.205594);
MainMap.ReloadMap();
Thanks,
Sreehari.G

If you would have asked the question in the article's forum it would have been better.

Hello, my friends!
Got one problem. I need one control for my product:
Something that will allow visual linking between two tables.
For example class diagram in Visual Studio:

or(it would be much more better) in MS Access:
http://www.cyberforum.ru/attachment.php?attachmentid=1978&thumb=1&d=1233315904
I believe, that somebody has already created such control!
I will be very thankful to everybody, who'll answer me
P.S. Sorry for my terrible English

Try out Flowchart.Net[^]. May be that is something you need.
