They look to be contants. Whats the confusion ? You can search through your code for "LB_GETCOUNT"/"LB_SETCOUNT" to know what are they meant for.
But looking at the names they seem familiar to Windows listbox commands [^]
netJP12L wrote: can i define my own values
Yes, you can declare your own constants. It's good to declare constants instead of having "magic values" all over the code. Hopefully you are aware when something should be declared as a constant or else google could help you.

They almost certainly mean that some p/invoke calls are being made and these constants are needed for that.

If a number starts with 0x it means you are dealing with a hexadecimal value.
0x018B = decimal 395
0x01A7 = decimal 423

That's the way we used to write Windows applications. These two things are constants which represent Windows Messages. They'll almost certainly be used with SendMessage() to get or set the count of a listbox. (How you set the count on a listbox without adding or removing from it I don't know).
.NET makes doing things like that a lot easier, but its still going on under the covers.
You cannot do what your suggesting - setting LB_SETITEMHEIGHT to 100 to set the size to 100. These things are message identitifiers, not values to set. The height would be another parameter passed to SendMessage along with the message identifier and the HWND of the control.
I wonder why you would have this in a .NET application? Like i said, programming Windows in this fashion is pretty much a thing of the past. Thank goodness.

There is a VB forum intended for VB questions.

This is a forum, not a bulletin board. People reply in the forum so that other people may benefit from the answers. Asking for a reply to your email is considered rude, if you are too lazy to revisit the forum why would anyone make an effort to reply?

i click on a linkbutton added in gridview in ist row .its e.rowindex should generate value 0 but it is 1 as gridview loaded first time what could be the reason.
I checked this at different events GridViewDeleteEventArgs & GridViewCommandEventArgs.

I'm just guessing here, but it might be because it is counting the column headers as row[0].
Anyway, does it matter, just use the value returned by e.RowIndex.

How about adding picture boxes to a panel? You can make the panel scrollable to accomodate for a large number of images.

Hi,
I am looking for information about this topic's description.
magic wand tool 'photoshop'
fuzzy select tool 'the gimp'
I'm not sure what this implementation is called, and have been searching the net for quiet some time.
I'm developing in C#
I need to click part of an image, and based on that pixels color find the adjacent pixels with a tolerance based on the original color.
I hope this explanation is satisfactory, any information would be greatly appreciated
Thanks.

My articles on image processing might help in giving you code you can use to examine an image, a pixel at a time.

Hi Everybody!!!
I have a form with several controls, then I click Save button, I want to fire up same event for all those controls, each control have its own validating event. Control's event are fired then I go to another control.
I want to prevent Empty strings by pressing SAVE button at the begining of filling up the form
Any help PLZ.
foreach (Control ctrl in groupbox.Controls)
{
HERE FIRE SAME EVENT
}

I have no idea what you mean. If you add a validating event, you need to first check if your control is of the right type, then cast it and call the method.

what type of controls is groupbox containing, textboxes?

you need to create an interface which will contain a Validate() method, extend your controls(eg. inherit from Textbox,..) and also inherit from that "IValidate" interface.
In your custom textbox let's say, you may validate:
public bool Validate()
{
return !this.Text.Equals(string.Empty);
}
After that, validate something like:
foreach (Control ctrl in this.Controls)
{
if (ctrl is IValidate)
{
bool result = (ctrl as IValidate).Validate();
}
}
|
|
|
|
|
public interface IValidate
{
bool Validate();
}

Hi,
I'm building my own tab control. I have classes with all of the lines and stuff I want to draw to make up the tabs and the outline to the control. But I'm just wondering because I'm finding it difficult to draw a tab each time a button to add a new tab is clicked, should I create a user control(for each tab) inside a user control(the actual tab control) or is there a good way to draw a tab using the class I have for that purpose each time the add tab button is clicked?
Sorry if this is hard to understand, I typed it out twice cos' the first time it was to hard for even me to understand
thanks

Is this through WPF or Windows Forms?
Also, are you building a new tab control more for fun, or to meet a need that the built-in tab control didn't meet?

A bit of both.
