Yeah, both ways work, I guess the real question is, when you're maintaining the code, which is the place you're most likely to expect to see this set ? I'd expect that depends on the coder, you're used to looking in one place, I am used to looking in the other.

For maintaining the code, it's definitely better in the aspx.
But I just remember why I used the other method, i didn't get it to work in the aspx.
And neither did I now.
But I'll have a look into that tomorrow. It's way to late for my brain now.

Well, I don't get it to work in the aspx. Asp:ImageButton doesn't support OnMouseOver or OnMouseOut natively.
But if you know how to do it in the aspx I'm definitely interested.

can anybody help me.
Whenever i clicked on dropdownlist ,the popup should display 10 items of dropdownlist while rest of 42 items could be viewed by scrolling it.

I don't believe the drop down list supports this, you can create this UI with a floating DIV tho.

Hi Guys,
I have the following block of html in a Content Page:
<div class="imageBoxOutside">
<div class="arrowLeft" onclick="prev('carousel_105');"></div>
<div id="carousel_105" onload="alert('carousel_105');">
<%#HtmlThumbsBlock1%></div>
<div class="arrowRight" onclick="next('carousel_105');"></div>
</div>
<div class="imageBoxOutside">
<div class="arrowLeft" onclick="prev('carousel_106');"></div>
<div id="carousel_106" onload="loadCarousel('carousel_106');">
<%#HtmlThumbsBlock2%></div>
<div class="arrowRight" onclick="next('carousel_106');"></div>
</div>
<div class="imageBoxOutside">
<div class="arrowLeft" onclick="prev('carousel_107');"></div>
<div id="carousel_107" onload="loadCarousel('carousel_107');">
<%#HtmlThumbsBlock3%></div>
<div class="arrowRight" onclick="next('carousel_107');"></div>
</div>
However, the onload method never gets called. The method is declared in the header of the same content page, NOT the master, and i can invoke it using onclick without any problems. The ThumbsBlock variables are the HTML for the internals of the carousel and work correctly onclick.
What's the deal? And how do i resolve it?
Regards
Tris

You can use tag just after the closing of the tag.
<div class="ForumSig">The miracle is this--the more we share, the more we have.</div>

Ok,
That appears to work and i can roll with it for now, but it's a horrible solution. Why isn't the onload function firing? Is there any alternative to this?
Cheers

Take a look at the W3 docs here:
Supported by the following HTML tags: <body>, <frame>, <frameset>, <iframe>, <img>, <link>, <script>
Perhaps place the loading functions into one function that gets called when the page loads.

I have an asp page posting session variables to my ASP_NET page
the _NET page recalls the variables and is meant to server transfer
the string to another page. When I substitute Response_redirect , the code behaves
wonderfully . I think my variables are still Integers not strings ??
<%@ Page language="VB" debug="true"%>
<script runat=server >
Sub Page_Load(sender as Object, e as System.EventArgs )
Dim i as Integer
for i =0 to Request.Form.Count -1
Session(Request.Form.GetKey(i))=Request.Form(i).ToString()
Next
dim pId
pId = Session("prodId")
pId = ("?search=" + pId)
Server.Transfer(Session("DestPage") & pId.ToString() ,true)
End Sub
</script>

Hi,
I have a combobox cmb and a xml file like
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?>
<NAME>
<NAME POINTS="1.5" value="a" />
<NAME POINTS="1.0" value="b" />
<NAME POINTS="1.0" value="c" />
<NAME POINTS="1.0" value="d" />
<NAME POINTS="0.5" value="e" />
<NAME POINTS="0.5" value="f" />
<NAME POINTS="0.5" value="g" />
<NAME POINTS="0" value="h" />
</NAME>
in the body onload ,a function is there abc()
in the time of page loading i want to fill the combo with a,b,c....to h and they have the curresponding numeric values as mentioned in the xml
And if we write document.form1.cmb.value ,it will dispaly the numerical value,instead of that i want to get the text value only to a string.
Thanks in advance!!!!

Can`t you use XmldataSource that comes inbuilt in VS 2005. All you need is to give the path of you xml file and bind this datasource to your dropdownlist.
rakeshs312 wrote: And if we write document.form1.cmb.value ,it will dispaly the numerical value,instead of that i want to get the text value only to a string.
val=document.getElementById("My_DDl").selectedIndex;
var selectedText=document.getElementById("My_DDl").options[val].text;

So there are two ways... either you hard code your values in the dropdownlist or use
AJAX to read the xml file and then fill the data fetched in you dropdown.
this[^] might help you.

hi people
I've created this session in global.asax part of my project in this way:
Session["news_id"]= null;
I've used a datalist to load some news titles from database and when you click on that title (Which is a link button) there opens a popup window and reads the desired news.
It the click event of mentioned link button I've told that:
Session["news_id"]= (int)(dataList1.DataKeys[dataList1.SelectedIndex]);
(I guess that the snippet above is problmatic)
Then in the form_load of that popup page after creating the sqlconnection stuff i've made the below commandtext:
"select text from news where id='"+Session["news_id"]+"'";
in which text is a field that news is stored and news is the name of my table.
What I get as an error is that sometimes on the click event of my link button says : Object not set to its refrence or something and sometimes it says that index was out of range!
Plase help me with you solutions.
Thanks alot
