WinForms controls are designed for people who don't know, and don't want to know, anything about HTML. The same people who managed to write Windows apps for years without ever knowing anything about Win32. They are, IMHO, worse than useless if you actually need or want some control over what's actually sent to the client.
As Colin suggests, you'll probably be much happier with the MVC stuff.

Shocking! Who could have ever guessed that getting specifications from internet forums was not as reliable as reading the documentation? Really, I mean who?

Hi,
Can anyone tell me if there's an SDK or API to Search Server 2008 Express?
I want to specify some parameters for a seach on a SharePoint site and Search Server 2008 Express looks ideal.
Thanks

Sure, click here[^]

I voted you a 5 by the way
Anyway, of course I've googled it but I was directed to a page on MSDN:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc304521.aspx[^]
This says the following:
"The Microsoft Search Server 2008 administration object model is based on the Enterprise Search administration object model in Office SharePoint Server 2007 and includes additional members in the Microsoft.Office.Server.Search.Administration Namespace."
...so a more informed reply to my original question would be, "No, the object model adds some additional members to the Enterprise Search administration object model".
I want to be able to access the Search Server Express 2008 object model without having to pay for MOSS. That's why I asked if there was a specific SDK

Then you should have included that information in your post. The members of this site are mere humans and therefore have no telepathy powers.

Yes, and if you follow links on that page you will find one that says the following:
Depending on which method overload you use, you might need to also include a reference in your project to the Microsot.Office.Server.dll or to the Microsoft.SharePoint.dll
Now while that dll needs to be obtained from a Sharepoint installation it does not require you having to pay for MOSS if you can obtain the DLL from a MOSS installation. Since you are working on a MOSS project I would imagine you have access to a MOSS installation.

The problem is that JavaScript doesn't know (nor does it care) what the root of your application is. Something you can do is, in your script code, add a server-side expression that represents your application root, and assign it to a variable. From there, you can concatenate your relative path values.
var applicationRoot = "<%= System.Web.HttpContext.Current.Request.ApplicationPath %>";
document.open(applicationRoot + "/myFolder/myDoc.htm");

looks like a good idea. Thanks.

I have tried the code that was posted on this site using Web Services and Ajax and I can't get this to work. Plus I don't want the XML to show below the form. I am setting up my form in Dreamweaver using asp not asp.net. I have a text box for Zip, City, and State in my form. I want for a person to enter their zip and when they move to the next field it will auto populate the City and State. I have a database called Zipcodes with a table that contains Zip, City, and State. Can anyone help me with this.

Good day!
Something wrong in functionnning in DNN 5.0.0.0.
I have completed website on localhost.
In address bar i type http://localhost/dotnetnuke - works normally.
In Host->Portal Aliases i added http://192.168.0.25/dotnetnuke and
like a test htpp://www.ignat.net/dotnetnuke.
But when somebody types http://192.168.0.25/dotnetnuke in other machine's address bar
DNN shows http://localhost/dotnetnuke/...

It seems problem is related to portal Alias.
Try to add this alias
192.168.0.25/dotnetnuke

Great!!!
It's working.
What i've done to fix this problem:
1. Host->Portal Settings and here we have
.NET Framework: 2.0.50727.1433, (3.0), (3.5) "Use current configuration" link
2. Having pressed this link, i just opened web.config. Here, in web.config, version of AJAX changed to 3.5.0.0 from 1.0....
3. Then, i added portal alias to table PortalAlias. I deleted localhost/dotnetnuke and added 192.168.0.25/dotnetnuke.
Now, when somebody call my website typing 192.168.0.25 in address bar, nothing changes.
Thank you so much!
Ignat.

Hi, sorry, could you just clarify....
You have a web form and it has
1) An update panel
2) A TextBox outside the UpdatePanel
3) A Button inside the UpdatePanel
then you want to
1) User to type in text box
2) User to click the Button
3) Button to submit request - Panel to update
4) Textbox to clear after all this has taken place
