There are several ways you can handle this. Let me give you two sets
1. When you calculate the height of control, hold to the value in hidden field. Then on post back after you done what ever you need to do, set the control height based on the hidden field value. This will always match to your last calculation.
2. You can use Sys.WebForms.EndRequestEventArgs. This event will get fired at the end of updatepanel successful update. There you can set the control size. see here[^]

i get this error because my web application uses a web service , the problem is my web application cannot find the web service.as i know the path to web service is stored in the web.config in web application,isn't it , if not what is the solution for my problem

What do you mean it is stored in web.config? There is nothing that prevents you from storing it in web.config, in fact it may be good idea as it will be very easy to change it.

The solution is to provide the correct url to your web service. Where you want to set is up to you.

tahnx, when i create the web reference using the IDE it writes to the web.config (a key/value pair)the url, then do i have to explicitly say
System.Configuration.ConfigurationManager.AppSettings["myServiceUrl"];
or does it takes it automatially

i hosted my web site and when i enter the url it shows the default page,not the index page , how can i fix it to show the index page when url is typed as default

Goto IIS settings(inetmgr) and move the index page to the top of default documents list.

My new page will be open from external dll, i sent current page as object to that dll and i want to open new page if the value of variable in the dll come to specific value, i mean while dll proccesing its functions not after finishing them

You can't. This is not how ASP.NET works. You need to consider changing application design. Let the external dll return some value indicating success or failure and redirect to the page depending on that.
