Can't you just use the C:\WINDOWS\Media\ringin.wav file?
If it's copyrighted, just search around - there's plenty of free ones for mobile (cell) phone ringtones.

Be very careful.
I once programmed a 'ting' (just an imitation of a standard bell 0x07) in assembler, 2500 lines of code. What you are proposing is very complex, and C# is probably not the best language to use for it.
However, best of luck!

Use the System.Media.SoundPlayer class. If I remember correctly, it will just play the sound from your application - and I think it has a PlayLoop (or something like that) method.

Hi
i'm looking for any example or article about how to implement user-level security for mu application.
my app scenario is :
1. My app have some forms
2. Users & Roles can define in app
3. Each user must have a role
4. Each role must have it's security level (admin can select a role and give a appropriate right on selected objects(forms) to that role)
How to implement this ?
A Good Idea : if u familiar with SharePoint, u saw, even users can assign a permission just for an specific Item! but don't know how to that.
after a lot of search, i define some tables which represent in this image :
http://i44.tinypic.com/142v439.jpg
as u can see in that image, my tables are these :
Users : to define user
Roles : to define role
UserRoles : store relationship between Users and Roles (which user member of which role)
Rights : to define right (like Select,Insert,Update,Delete,Report, ...)
Objects : to hold all objects(can be include database objects or application objects) which must be assign security level to
Permissons : to hold which role on which object have which right.
and now, i want to display this form and table to user :
http://i42.tinypic.com/v75gzb.jpg
in the form, admin can select a role from comboBox and set appropriate permission to an specific object,
but i don't know how to query tables to display this table, and how to manage this data.
i think the database design is correct but getting query is main problem, i want to manage security levels like second image.
any help would be great appreciated.

This is fairly common. See[^] these links.

Thanks d@nish
but most of those links, explains about .net security management and some other is old (not implement custom solution which save security data in database tables)

This[^] should work if you implement it into a Win Forms App
|
|
|
|
|
The asp.net has special functionality which does not provide in winForms.
i just confusing how to use those tables that i've designed in first post.

The only thing different in that example is the part about the cookie. In a winforms app you can connect to a database and read and write data and hash the password which is essentially the same. Correct me if I'm wrong.
It might not be the best of examples but it shows the principles

so how can we do that .
please help me
thanks in advance to all of you.

Set focus on next control when user presses arrow key. You can find next control by properly setting tab index or tag property for each control.

Hello friends..
I came accross a small problem. I need to draw something e.g. rectangles, circles, ellipses ,etc.
I read the articles and learnt how to draw them , but as we can see the rectangle with a broken border as in paint until and unless we release the mouse , I am unable to do such in my application...
Please help...

Dude, I think you need to rephrase that. I really can't understand what you want to say.

Rob Philpott.

if we need to draw a rectangle in a picture box we can do so easily..
on mouse down event i save the mouse cordinates.
And on mouse up event i can draw a rectangle using the pointer position...
All works fine. .
But actually if you do such in paint, you can see a rectangle being drawn as we move our mouse ...
How to doso ??
|
|
|
|
|
You need to draw the rectangles in MouseMove event as well along with Paint. (If I understood you correctly.)

You got it correct. ..
I have already done that, but what happens is once a rectangle is drawn with mouse move event , I am unable to remove it..
Thats the main problem ..
|
|
|
|
|
Ah ok,
On the mouse down event, set a boolean to true. In the mouse up event, set it to false. In the Mouse move event, check the boolean and if its true then draw the rectangle.
That should do what you want.

Rob Philpott.

The answers already given will work.
For some added 'cool' features Google for 'rubberbanding c#', and search MSDN for DrawReversibleFrame the page that you get has a nice example.
Good Luck!

i am trying to fetch data from database & trying it to add all the fetch records into listbox
cmd = new OleDbCommand("select bcode from Issue where btno= " + listBox1.SelectedItem.ToString() + "", cn);
cn.Open();
dr = cmd.ExecuteReader();
if (dr.Read() == true)
{
listBox2.Items.Add(dr[0].ToString());
}
dr.Close();
cn.Close();
so it only adds a single record but there are more than one records matches to btno
|
|
|
|
|
|
The problem is that you are only telling it to add one item.
Replace:
if (dr.Read() == true)
with:
while (dr.Read())
and all should work as required.
Incidentally, you should have posted this as a reply to musefan. He was waiting to help you. He's probably sitting in front of his computer crying now, because you haven't replied!

I have the mouse event handler function that takes the mouse x and y coordinates and converts that integer to a string and is sent to two text boxes, one for each axis. I am trying the get the x and y coordinates of the mouse when it is on any part of a live video stream bitmap. It is for a color tracking app, ill eventually get the color ARGB values of the pixel the mouse is over and save it to the color filter value chart. I digress, all i need to know is where do i have to place my function:
protected override void OnMouseMove(MouseEventArgs mouseEv)
{
txtMouseX.Text = mouseEv.X.ToString();
txtMouseY.Text = mouseEv.Y.ToString();
}
so that i get the coordinates of the bitmap, not the application window.
