well there are several ways you can pass data between pages, Query String, Session variables etc. string[100] is potentially huge data, depending on the content of each element.
Why don't you persist the data to either database or file and pass a handle from one page to another
page1.aspx: Save string[100] to database then call page2.aspx?id=some_id

Your first question is, why do you need to pass this array ? You should probably store it in a DB, and pass the id used to pull it from the DB. Having said that, you could concievably place the array on the URL, or use the Session.

Hi,
You can Use Querystring for Passing Array from one Page to Another page.
I hope the following Sample Code will Help You.
Let's start by creating the array in CreateArray.asp
'Create an array that contains
'the days of the week
Dim aWeekDays(6)
aWeekDays(0) = "Sunday"
aWeekDays(1) = "Monday"
aWeekDays(2) = "Tuesday"
aWeekDays(3) = "Wednesday"
aWeekDays(4) = "Thursday"
aWeekDays(5) = "Friday"
aWeekDays(6) = "Saturday"
Now, to store the array contents in the querystring, we will loop from LBound(aWeekDays) to UBound(aWeekDays). For each element, we'll add an item to the querystring, having the array name, an equals sign, and then the value of the particular array element.
'Build the querystring
Dim iLoop, strQueryString
For iLoop = LBound(aWeekDays) to UBound(aWeekDays)
strQueryString = strQueryString & "WeekDays=" & aWeekDays(iLoop)
strQueryString = strQueryString & "&"
Next
'Cut off the last character
strQueryString = Left(strQueryString, Len(strQueryString) - 1)
'Now, create the actual hyperlink
%>
ReceiveArray.asp

Hi, I would like to develop an application in ASP.NET (using c#) which would consist of an image of a football pitch and icons, each having a player's name.
The user will use the mouse to drag an icon image (which represents a particular player) and drop it somewhere on the pitch image. Finally the user will save it, for it to be displayed somewhere else.
Something similar to this: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/score_on_bbci/7631245.stm[^]
Anyone got a solution or tutorial?
Thanks

If you found a web page that does this, then read the source to see how they do it. It will be lots of javascript, ASP.NET strictly speaking, cannot do this, that is, it brings nothing to the table for this.

Hi
I have a GridView which I have constructed using a template. For my links at the top of the gridview, I have buttons in order to allow users to sort the values in the columns. My question is whether I can programmatically change the sort direction to be a direction I want it to be on first click. In other words, if you click the button and the first direction is Ascending, then I want it to be Descending first on first click and vice versa.
Can anyone help me, please?

Yes, of course you can do that. I'd typically have the button just set a flag and pass that to the SQL to change the sort order.

You can Use ViewState to set the sort Direction of the Gridview
on Button Click Event write the following Code :
if (ViewState["SortDirection"] != "Asc" ||ViewState["SortDirection"] == null)
ViewState["SortDirection"] == "Desc"
else
ViewState["SortDirection"] == "Asc"
// Here dv is the dataView Object. Product is the Field in Gridview Based on that Field we Sort Asc or Des.
dv.Sort = ViewState["Product"].ToString() + " "+ViewState["SortDirection"].ToString();
gvBusinessSourcingList.DataSource = dv;
gvBusinessSourcingList.DataBind();
Ok, Bye

Hi
I have found away of converting MS Word into HTML by following a solution I found at the following link:
http://www.wherecanibuyit.co.uk/ASP/converting_word_doc_files_to_html.html
However, even though I can get it to work, I have three problems:
1. When it opens in my asp:panel it doesn't fit neatly into the width of the panel and you have to scroll side ways to read it. I have changed the code the Word.WdSaveFormat.wdFormatHTML another format, but this loses some of the formatting. Does anyone how I can keep the formatting - namely MS Word tables and to get it fit into a panel
2. Is there away of creating HTML docs on the fly without having to save it first?
3. When the code runs it runs without error, but if I try and shut down windows, MS Word is still open even though it is not in my task bar. Is there another way of getting MS Word to close?
Thanks

Sounds like you need to talk to the people who wrote that page.

I was using ASP.NET and VB.NET using the article http://www.codeproject.com/KB/custom-controls/DropDownListOptionGroup.aspx
I got it working but the problem is, it is creating one additional option tag with null value just after option group. How to get rid of this additional option tag.
I am using VB.NET code.
Thanks.

I am looking for a regular expression for a string to allow alphabets ,digits and only special characters like underscore(_) and blank space.
i tried using [0-9a-zA-Z]+$ but it accepts only digits and alphabets which is stops my functionality.
my string should accept only _ and blank space no more special characters.......

[0-9a-zA-Z_\s]+$
I think should work, unless _ is a control character (I haven't had my coffee yet, so my mind isn't working well ).

Hi all. I am working on a page with a treeview on that state needs to be saved on postback(Meta Refresh). Now I've got the following code to create a cookie if a node is expanded
Protected Sub tvSideNav_NodeExpanded(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As ComponentArt.Web.UI.TreeViewNodeEventArgs) Handles tvSideNav.NodeExpanded
Try
Dim i As Integer
For i = 0 To Request.Cookies.Count - 1
Request.Cookies.Remove(i)
Next
Dim UserCookie As HttpCookie = New HttpCookie("UserCookie")
UserCookie.Name = "Details"
UserCookie.Values.Add("node", tvSideNav.SelectedNode.GetCurrentIndex.ToString)
Response.Cookies.Add(UserCookie)
Catch ex As Exception
End Try
End Sub
but this code doesn't seem to fire when a node is expanded. Can someone tell me why this is?

I figured it out. In the aspx page in the treeview component you have to set the following.
AutoPostBackOnNodeExpand ="true "
