Hi, I have a ASP.NET solution that works fine...most of the time. I just moved it to a server and now when I get errors it shows this in the exception:
"at CB.ResizeImage(String OriginalFile, String NewFile, Int32 NewWidth) in C:\Users\xxxx\Documents\Visual Studio 2008\WebSites\xxxx\indexCB.cs:line 288"
But its not running from that dir anymore? And its not even using that .cs file, its using the DLL that has been compiled to the bin directory.
Thanks

what error stands infront of 'at CB.ResizeImage(String OriginalFile, String NewFile, Int32 NewWidth) in...' ?
In Word you can only store 2 bytes. That is why I use Writer.

when i try to access my website from my ftp space this error appeared
i tried to edit the config file but nothing new
any suggestion?
Runtime Error
Description: An application error occurred on the server. The current custom error settings for this application prevent the details of the application error from being viewed remotely (for security reasons). It could, however, be viewed by browsers running on the local server machine.
Details: To enable the details of this specific error message to be viewable on remote machines, please create a <customerrors> tag within a "web.config" configuration file located in the root directory of the current web application. This <customerrors> tag should then have its "mode" attribute set to "Off".
<configuration><br />
<system.web><br />
<customErrors mode="Off"/><br />
</system.web><br />
</configuration>
Notes: The current error page you are seeing can be replaced by a custom error page by modifying the "defaultRedirect" attribute of the application's <customerrors> configuration tag to point to a custom error page URL.
<configuration>
<system.web>
<customErrors mode="RemoteOnly" defaultRedirect="mycustompage.htm"/>

Maite, atleast make the debugging enabled so that you atleast know what the error is and the place where it occured.

You got this error message because a page you are accssing contains syntax or runtime error but current configuration of asp.net prevent the actual error message. Please review the pages in your site and also place error handling claue in your web.config.

If any of the subfolder of your website under iis has web.config files, then error might be occured.
Copy the files in the folder 'WebSite1' to 'C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\WebSite1' instead of 'C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\Grid view color change\WebSite1\' and then configure it as a website in IIS.
Hope this will help you.

Website1 should be specified as a website. Use the ConvertToApplication menu option in the IIS on this folder.

I just recently started messing with ASP.NET, and when I wanted to move my website to an IIS server I have It copies fine.
The webpages also seem to functioning properly, but I get an error each time I attempt to log in.
It works exactly the way I want it when I debug but breaks when I copy.

It seems that the asp.net web application in the server does not able to connect to the SQL server.
Generally the asp.net web application run under NETWORK SERVICE account if deployed in Windows 2003.
Threfore if you are using windows authentication to connect to the SQL Server(check connection string in web.config), then check whether the network service account has access to your SQL database. Alternatively you can use SQL authentication to connect from your asp.net application to SQL Server.

The IIS server is installed on the same system that I'm using for the creation of the pages. Its also a windows 7 system, I'll post a copy of my web.config file, because I never really worked with any DB system. I'm also accessing my website folder as myself and I'm a domain admin.
My connection string is data source=.\SQLEXPRESS;Integrated Security=SSPI;AttachDBFilename=|DataDirectory|aspnetdb.mdf;User Instance=true

i needed to get the free disk space on a shared remote drive.
my shared-name goes something like this -- \\RemoteServer\ADrive$
ConnectionOptions oConn = new ConnectionOptions();
oConn.Username = "xUser";
oConn.Password = "xxxx";
string sSrvName = @" \\RemoteServer\ADrive$";
ManagementScope oMS = new ManagementScope(sSrvName, oConn);
I get the error - "Invalid Parameter".
If i remove the $ sign from the end of the server name and make it something like \\RemoteServer\ADrive
it goes past the above statement and fails at
ManagementObjectSearcher oSearcher = new ManagementObjectSearcher(oMS, oQuery) ;
ManagementObjectCollection oReturnCollection = oSearcher.Get() ;
with the error - "RPC server is unavailable"
but when trying to map the above mentioned share drive - \\RemoteServer\ADrive$, via Windows Explorer it works.
any kind of help is appreciated.
thanks to all

I updated my profile information and saved profile by invoking Profile.Save.
Immediately after calling Profile.Save, when control excutes page_load in master page,
I observe that this.Profile gives me old/original data.
I updated my profile a second time, and now in the page_load of master page, i get
the 1st updated profile information.
Is there any refreshing that I should perform to have this.Profile provide
latest information immediately after updating the profile?

Due to the sequence of event you got such result.

you are correct Kanu ... i put break point and observed that update was the last operation performed.

I'm having a problem with my asp.net page(Internet Explorer Progress Bar Showing Incorrect Status or I'm doing something wrong?) and found a similar issue in http://support.microsoft.com/kb/293373. I don't know if I'm doing wrong in my page but I hope not. What my page does is, During page load I will bind my grid to a table of job and I have a column for status. I will check all the record status if there is a job with status "Executing" so its either true or false. I will save that to a hidden field named IsExecuting. In the Javascript I have this 3 functions (1)startcoundown (2)countdown(3)AJAX prm_endRequest.
startcoundown will be called during window.load and prm_endRequest
countdown will be called if If IsExecuting=True
prm_endRequest will be called after AJAX endRequest
In AJAX prm_endRequest call function startcoundown
In startcoundown If IsExecuting=True then do countdown and Trigger btnRefresh.Click after 5 seconds( btnRefresh.Click will bind my grid again/refresh my grid)
Repeat until all status=Completed.
It's all working fine its just that IE progres bar still indicating page is loading eventhough page is already loaded. Am I missing something? I already tried many things and nothings work to fix this issue. It's working in Firefox. Thanks
