I don't know if you will be able to get it to work exactly as you require, but the TableLayoutPanel with two columns and two rows would get pretty damned close.

Henry,
Thanks for the suggestion. I'll give it a try later today.

I tried the TableLayoutPanel, but it didn't quite give me what I wanted. The layout is fine, but I want to be able to resize the cells using the mouse, just like with the SplitContainer. I checked the documentation and a couple of other forums, and it looks like you can resize whole rows or columns via code, but not the mouse (at least there's no built-in support). I'd like to end up with something like this:

where I click and drag the 'o' the resize all 4 panels simultaneously. I would think someone has already made something like this, but if not I guess I can handle the MouseDown, MouseMove, and MouseUp events to get the effect I want. Any other suggestions?
Thanks,
Dybs

As you say, I'm sure that someone must have done something like this, but if you are unable to find anything, the Mouse handling route would seem to be the way to go.
When its finished, perhaps you could write an article about it.
Good luck!

So I've finally had some time to work on this a bit more with a co-worker. We implemented the MouseDown, MouseMove, and MouseUp events to handle resizing rows and columns in the TableLayoutPanel, and for the most part it works well. Still having some resize issues when the form resizes to keep the cells right (we're using Absolute size, maybe need to switch to Percent). Might be an article in it, have to check company policy since it was written specifically for work.

Why not put your prototype in a UserControl?

Eddy,
I've actually already done that (with the nested split-containers). It will do for now, but I'd still like a way to resize all 4 panels in any direction at the same time. As far as I know, just working with nested split-containers doesn't quite get me there. The other suggestions on the TableLayoutPanel look promising though.
Thanks,
Dybs

I guess TableLayoutPanel will suit your needs.

I have a FolderListBox from MSVB namespace, and I want to change the root directory.
An example:
It is displayed like: C:\Users\Example\Documents\Spreadsheets. I want it to display like \Documents\Spreadsheets. If you can do this with with the FolderListBox or the wonderful ExplorerTree by Quartz.

The Beta release for the Windows 7 Software Logo Toolkit lets you submit and receive the Compatible with Windows 7 logo for your products. You can start today.
In the past, to earn software logos with Microsoft, software companies have submitted applications to a third-party tester and paid a fee. The new test for Windows 7 is free and can be administered by you. It is a self test.
Once you submit the results of your test, you are instantly approved and can begin using the Compatible with Windows 7 logo immediately as soon as the following has been completed:
- The passing logo report is submitted and the logo policies are accepted
- The Software Logo License Agreement is signed online
And if your application is already Vista-compatible, there's a high probability it is ready for Windows 7.
the Compatible with Windows 7 program also offers a variety of benefits including co-branding, MS partner points, and premier placement on a variety of online consumer facing sites.
Here are a few simple steps towards getting started:
- Download the Beta logo toolkit here[^]:
NOTE: this link also includes the logo requirements document, toolkit release notes, a toolkit user’s guide, and an overview of the submission process.
- Submit the test report from the toolkit through WinQual[^].
- If a waiver is needed for a failing test case from the toolkit report streamlined waiver process can be initiated by completing the online form here[^].
For a roadmap to ensure your applications work on Windows, see Windows Application Compatibility[^].

There are no physical modems connected to my PC, but I still need to allow the Dialler to dial numbers. To do this, I need to create a virtual modem and display it in device manager.
Could anyone elaborate on the process ?

Look at the Process class and just launch the command line "EXPLORER.EXE driveSpec:". For example "EXPLORER.EXE C:".

So, you want an Explorer window with access only to the removable drive?? Cna't do it. Explorer gives you access just like you opened My Computer. You'd have to write your own version of an Explorer window with just the functionality you want.

It would appear that your installer is corrupted, or the .EXE it installed is corrupted.
