if you have an address of 192.168.5.x, and another address of 192.168.1.x, then you need a device like a router that knows how to transfer (route) data between the subnets
(or possibly a switch), I forget which
[edit] this link shows a bit about it [/edit] http://www.firewall.cx/ip-subnetting-routing.php[^]
The picture right down the bottom is more what I was thinking - it might be impractical to do this at home - so why not use just 192.168.5.x where x can be any port except 'well known' port(s)

Thanks, for your reply
I forget to tell you that both my pc and client pc are on same network, through a switch already.
matter is that ip addresses are fixed (where i have to launch application).server address is 192.168.1.25 and one of client is having 192.168.5.20 is there any software method to solve it...?

I doubt it - unless you have a smart switch that works as a router, you'll have to give the client an address on the 192.168.1 subnet - this sort of thing is handled at a lower level than 'your' software

hi
in my project i have a small requirement
i have a combobox in that i have items
1)Ms office 2003
2)Ms office 2007
these items are added manually
if i select "Ms office 2003"
then the corresponding Ms office word document should be opened
if i select "Ms office 2007"
then a word document of version 2007 should be opened
similarly i have a another combobox in which i have items
1)Autocad 2004
2)Autocad 2006
3)Autocad 2008
4)Autocad 2009
when i select a item then the corresponding application should be opened
these items are of "Auto cad Application" with different version
with regards

I guess this assumes the versions of Workd and Autocad are already there. Your best bet would be to run the right executable and passing in the document path as a parameter, rather than just executing the document and letting windows decide what program is registered to handle it.

If I register the dll which is obtained through this link,
How to attach to Browser Helper Object (BHO) with C# in two minutes
I can see the dll in registry, I had checked the Enable the third party extensions option and I had also checked that manage add-ons of internet options, there also I can see that my dll is enabled, but it does not show the message boxes when an input element obtained in a web page.
what may be the error, Could anyone suggest if I miss something?
my browser is IE6.

As you got the code through an article, it would be best if you posted your question against that article. Presumably the author has experience of issues with the control, so you will probably get a better answer there.

You heard ? You know, despite how bad things get around here, you seem to always be on the bottom level of all the people who post here. I did a quick google, and in seconds verified that it's possible to use the indexing service to search the metadata of images. It doesn't searching the actual images, but the metadata associated with them. Why, after all this time, are you still incapable of using google ?

Does anyone know of a way (or if it is even possible) to extract the tracks that were originally recorded from an mp3? Ideally I would like an app that could take an mp3 and give back the guitar, bass or drum tracks. I dont care what language it is written in or even if there is already an application that does this. Anything helps at this point.
Cheers,
Chris

How is this a programming question ?
There are filters which can be used to only play part of a track that exists at a specific point in the stereo image. In theory these can be dialed in to find a specific track, but in theory, they are crap, they really do not work.

hi guys! ckeck out this
i have an app with 2 forms and a database with a table
in the first form i have a datagrid of the table which i manually put it in the form from tha Data Source window, you know what i mean... the insert,update and delete will be done in the second form via textboxes, i use dataset.datatables etc to do the job
so,the problem is when i do insert,update or delete in the second form and then close it, the datagrid in the first one shows the old data, i try the refresh() method but still nothing,
what shoud i do??
thank you i advance

If you have stored updated data in the grid, then rebinding to your data source is going to show updated data. I assume that the refresh method does not do that, I have never used the ugliness you're talking about, I write proper data layers.

I reread the table from the database and reload the datagridview (assuming winforms).

the form which incclude the datagrid does not close when i open the form2 to do the insert,update and delete, so can i reread the table since the constructor of the form1 doesn't recall?
i want when i click the save button of the form2 the datagrid to refresh at the same time

You need to buy a very basic C# book and read it. Of course you can rebind your control. The nasty stuff you're using, which puts your SQL in your presentation layer, probably changes how you do that, but it has to be possible.

If form2 is not modal, then you need a delegate to make that work.

maybe you dont understood me my friend. the datagrid is in form 1. the upadating,inserting and deleting in the form 2, when i press the save button in the form2 then the datagrid in the form2 must be update, its not only rebinding the control. how can it done when i click the save button in the form 2.
also the form with the datagrid mustn't close at all
i hope you understand

dude do you have datagrid in page one alone or do you have that even in page 2.
if you have the datagrid in page two you can give the datasource to the grid on click of save button
even then if you are not able to get the updated records, you first need to check the SQL table which you update. verify if you are updating the table in the database or just the dataset.

no, datagrid in form1 and the insert,update in form2
tha form1 must be open all the time,
i cklick tha save button in form2 and i want the datagrid in form1 to be updated, and i will say it again, without closing the form1

In that case i think you might be binding the records by checking for is postback.
try binding the data removing the ispostback block that should help. if you feel that this is not helping out please post the code that you have written so that anybody who looks at that can help you out.

the datagrid of the table is made aytomaticly when i drag and drop it from the datasourse window
so he code that appears is
private void Form2_Load(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
// TODO: This line of code loads data into the 'programmersHeavenDataSet1.Article' table. You can move, or remove it, as needed.
this.articleTableAdapter.Fill(this.programmersHeavenDataSet1.Article);
// TODO: This line of code loads data into the 'programmersHeavenDataSet1.Article' table. You can move, or remove it, as needed.
this.articleTableAdapter.Fill(this.programmersHeavenDataSet1.Article);
}
private void articleBindingNavigatorSaveItem_Click(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
this.Validate();
this.articleBindingSource.EndEdit();
this.tableAdapterManager.UpdateAll(this.programmersHeavenDataSet1);

My task is as follows...
I have 2 data files a Source (A) and a Destination (B) both located in the shared network drive.
A is a data file (plain text) between 2GB and 3GB made up of records of fixed size.
A is always being written into by other processes (new records being appended at the end).
I would like to read through the whole file A, read each record, leave what I still need and archive the rest to B.
There is a 10 character string I can use within each record as a filter.
My question is, is there a (fast, as in run-time fast) way to do this in C#? I have been trying to do this with MMF but I'm beginning to think it's overkill?
Thanks for any help.

Hey, Im making an application to telnet my NAS and punch in some simple commands like chmod etc . Ive been googling for the last two hours and all ive found are fully functional telnet clients which i have no hope of integrating into my tiny application .
Can anyone point me in the direction of a telnet activex control or even suggest a way of using my application tto punch commands automatically into an existing telnet client like putty ?
Thanks
