I have been looking for a way to preform facial recognition with C#.
I have searched and searched for a library or control for such a task.
I could only find one... "ActiveFace" but activeface.net is just a blank page and all the download sites i can find redirect me to the blank site.
Does anyone know of any control or library for preforming face recognition with C#?

That's a really complex task, don't expect anything good, for free.

Indeed it is very complex. I dont expect there to be any library or control for free. But I cannot find any libraries, even ones you have to pay for.

Thanks Jase,
I had found this last night. It got me really interested and I wanted to read it all, but as you see to read the full article you have to download the pdf.. and the link for the pdf is broken.
Edit, just did a search and a filename, found it on a different domain

You're welcome. Yeah, I just found that out after reading your last message. I then went to Google and typed in:
"Face Detection and Recognition C#" (without quotes) and I got a fair few results. I even found a link to a PDF where it says that there are solutions for .NET Languages, including C#.
Here's the link to the results that I got:
http://www.google.com.au/search?hl=en&q=face+detection+and+recognition+C%23&meta=[^]
... And here's another:

Hi, I want to extract data from PowerPoint slides and then insert them into Excel workbook, where each slide in PowerPoint corresponds to a sheet in Excel workbook and vice-versa (from Excel to PowerPoint).
How do I do this? I extracted the data PowerPoint but now how do I make it send to data to Excel? What options/possibilities do I have?
I'm using VSTO with C#, please tell me solutions for both Office 2003/2007

You would have to associate the new extension with having the shell execute your app.
Why would you want to do this ?

An executable comprises of multiple sections, which the operating system will read to know how to load it into the memory and run. By explicitly renaming the extension of a file, you're putting this mechanism out of picture by telling the OS that it isn't an executable file.
So, If you rename the file to .abc, the application associated with this extension (if any) will attempt to handle it.
Why do you want to do such a thing, and what kind of application are you writing, are other questions though...

Dear Rajesh R Subramanian

WinZip doesn't rename an exe and execute it anyway. It just opens some types of file (like zip) and those zip files are not executing themselves. Self extractors have little to do with it - they are actual exe files and no attempt is made to hide that fact.

So, you just need to associate your application with the file types that it can handle. Your query has nothing to do with executable files. Please read up on the basics.
Have a look at System File Association[^] (C#)

hello everyone
I want to work with threads in my application in c# using sql server database by running all processing updates on the base.
I would like coaching someone to help me.
thank you very much

What have you tried ? What do you understand about how threads work ? Why do you want to use them ?

I tried this Simple Database Application - Part 1
using thread allows access to the database by several users at the same time and perform all processing updates on the database (identification, addition, modification, consultation, delete, printing ..) and memory management.
thank you once again

Hi,
I have two parameters as follows:
string scriptText = MsgBox "hello";

I would like to create a file called sample.vbs which will have the scriptText in it.
This file will have to be saved in the c directory of the MachineName.
How is this done please?
