Are there any differences at all in setting up the web.config for a .NET 3.5 app vs. a 2.0 to make use of the asp .net membership provider?
Is the same version 2.0.0.0 of the membership provider in the web.config still the one to use with the 3.5 version of the framework? Also, what if the connection string is encrypted in the registry, how would the connectionstringname and connection be set for membership to use then?
I have come up empty handed trying to find answers to the above questions.
Please help,
Thanks

I'm having a problem with getting my new site to upload. I'm using asp.net/vb.net as well as using the new ajax control toolkit as well and after uploading my page to my server I come acrossed an error that I'm not sure how to fix. The site is located at:
http://www.watsonowen.com/NewSite/SiteTemplate/
The error I'm getting is Parse error and states this "Could not load file or assembly 'AjaxControlToolkit' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified."
If someone could please help me fix this problem I would greatly appreciate it.

Does your hosted site have the specific framework and AjaxToolkit installed?

Seems rather obvious, the AjaxControlToolKit assembly is not in the correct location.

Just place the AJAXControlToolkit.dll in the bin directory of your project or install it in the global assembly cache.

I am trying to follow some instructions in a VB2005 book which changes the value of DefaultClientScript by viewing the DOCUMENT Properties. The problem I have is that I do not see this property listed. I tried searching for an answer and found many articles suggesting changing this on the Property Pages on the General Section. Trouble is I don't have any general section.
All I want to do is to change the default to VBScript
Am I missing something simple?

If the information is same for all user load the data in the Cache, so it will not hit database every time to retreive user information and data population will be fast.

Well you could load the data...wait..."pls pls i am urgent regarding this". Sorry, don't respond to rude requests like this. It may be urgent to you but not the rest of us.

Are you going to show 180 offices in a single page or will you use pagination? Surely if you are going to show 180 offices and its related information which comes from the database, your page load will be affected as far as the performance is concerned.

Hi!
I have 2 tables in MS SQL database - one is just ID and Description of an Client Type, the other is ID, name, address and ClientType_ID. I have a GridView which is binded with SqlDataSource. The select statement returns all. I have made on the place of the ClientType_ID to be shown a DropDown List with the Description of the Client Type, not the ID, so the user can choose from it. I've enable on my SqlDataSource update, insert & delete statements. I was hoping when I edit the GridView and change the value in the DropDown List that it will update the table. But not only that didn't happend, but I have this error:
Incorrect syntax near 'nvarchar'.
Is anyone has any suggestions how to update the ClientType_ID in the table with the names of the clients, but choosing from the Description, not the ID of the ClientType?
What's with this error?
10x in advance!
This is the gridView and the sqlDataSource

Hi Devs,
I have couple of button in a form and sometimes when i click on it, instead of jumping to button1_click it jumps to one of the dropdownlist1_SelectedIndexChanged and generates error and application fails. And this doesn't happen every time but it is happening randomly.
Any idea what's going wrong here ??
Thank You

Are you sure the action occuring behind the button click event isn't, under specific circumstances, changing the selected index in the drop down list, (i.e., maybe it's filtering or repopulating the items in the the drop down list), and thus firing the index changed event entirely appropriately as the selected index has actually changed?

Hi,
Just check the event binding of the specified control.
