There are two version of .NET Framework one for 32 Bit and another for 64 Bit OS. If you have both the version installed in your system and your OS is 64 bit then 64bit Framework should be used. As for example if you want register IIS with asp.net the you have to run aspnet_regiis command from 64 bit folder.

Thanks - say if you have 64 Windows, 64 bit will be the default target platform if you compile your ASP.NET project under VS. Can you optionally compile to 32 bit platform though?

these are not finding in my webpage..i am trying to add System.web.dll..i couldn't see that name...
i checked by rightclicking project and add reference..there also i din't find tht assembly..
using System.Web.Security;
using System.Web.UI;
using System.Web.UI.WebControls;
using System.Web.UI.WebControls.WebParts;
using System.Web.UI.HtmlControls;
The type or namespace name 'Security' does not exist in the namespace 'System.Web' (are you missing an assembly reference?)

System.Security[^] is a seperate assembly which you need to add.

Add System.Web.dll from Add References . You will find the dll at the Framework Directory.
If your .NET 2.0 installed in C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\<V2.0.X.X>
add that dll, then try

In your project. Right click and select "Add Reference..."
A dialog will pop up (usually after some seconds - It is quite slow at starting)
In the .NET tab look in the list for System.Web or System.Security (what ever you are trying to add) and hit Okay.

Which time out you want to avoid. It can be at multiple levels i.e. Web Server (IIS), SQL or if its more complex infrastructure than at firewall level.

I maybe too late to reply this post, but hope to help others who meet similar problem on solving this.
I fixed this but putting the popup panel into another panel and set the display style to "none".
<asp:Panel runat="server" ID="container" style="display:none" >
<asp:Panel runat="server" ID="popupPanel" >
.....
</asp:Panel>
</asp:Panel>

Hi all
I have a web page with a number of webparts which I have created (as in inherited from Webpart not just web controls in a zone) in a zone I have created along with a created chrome. They all work fine!
The problem is that they contain a lot of information and I have noticed that when you try to drag a webpart you need to wait a little while before you can actually move it about - I'm assuming this is because it is rendering the webpart again in it's semi visible state.
I was wondering if it is possible to only have the title bar with the title of the webpart with any verb buttons rendered in the semi visible control that is attached to the cursor when moving a webpart. Is there a function in the webpart itself that I need to override? Or perhaps something to put into the RenderWebPart method of the chrome so that it wont call renderPartContents for the drag rendering?
Many thanks in advance!

After some further research I have come to conclusion that it is not possible - there is inbuilt javascript that simply clones the webpart into a floating div that appears when you go to drag a webpart. Maybe in future versions (I'm working in 2.0) this can change...
Initially I wanted to have the page in catalog mode all the time but to get a solution to the problem I have moved away from this. I have added a boolean property to my webparts that when set to false will not add any controls to the webpart. Therefore when my button is pressed to put the page in catalog mode, this flag is set to false meaning just the title of the webparts are displayed enabling quick cloning into the floating div.
Thanks to anyone that did try and find a solution.

How can I make the Response.Redirect() method or something inside that methode not
change the special character in the link.
here is my code:
<br />
string strURL = "http://www.myweb.com/doThatThing.aspx?run=th&rp=Y"Ê"<br />
Response.Redirect(strURL, false);<br />
Unfortunately it somhow changes the special characters so it ends up lik
http:
so the last part is changed from Y”Ê to Y%e2%80%9d%02%c3%8a%e2%82%ac
I'm not exacty shore where the text is change.
Any sugesstion?
Maby I can change the parameter back from Y%e2%80%9d%02%c3%8a%e2%82%ac to Y”Ê ?
Thanks
Thomas

Try using the unicode escape for the characters you want.
