how to bold a particular item of a dataset programatically.
Thanx in advance
|
|
|
|
|
Well, no item in a dataset is bold, obviously. So, you need to write code that inserts bold tags only for the items you want to view as bold. Which typically means binding the whole field to a code behind method which returns the item, but wraps it in bold tags if needed, or having a label that shows the field, and have the weight of the font on the label set by a method which passes the data to a code behind method.

Thanx for the responses.
can you explain it with an example.

Well, how are you displaying it ? You'd end up with something like
That's SO rough, that I recommend you do some actual research for real examples, but MyFunction is a method on your page, that takes an object, which is the data you display, and parses it to return the strings Normal or Bold.

Dataset does not supports adding styles or formatting for text. However you can add style or text formatting to its binding control like gridview etc.

how to add all the control to Page.Form.Controls
and create object for it
|
|
|
|
|
I'm sorry, but your question makes absolutely no sense, please try asking it again.
All controls in the page are in the controls collection, by definition.

what do you want to do ? Do you need to create object for a control and add it to a web page. For that you can add a panel to a page and you add your created controls.

Hi all,
I don't know whether i should ask this question in this forum,
I am using VS 2008 proff edition trial version with sp1,
while working on an application, i created a user control,
as soon as i place the register tag for the user control in my page, VS hangs and doesn't recovers back.
I need to restart my machine, the same problem also occured when i tried to add a master page to my web page.
Has anyone faced this problem?
Any help in this regards will be appreciated.
Thanks & Regards,
Pramod

No, I've never seen this. I'd try using the web edition ( the free one ), or just doing a reinstall.

I think reinstalling may solve this issue.
When it in BETA stage VS2008 I had problem, as it hang often when adding reference. I think this is resolved in the new version. Are you using the Beta version?
Anyways, I am using Visual studio 2008 for a couple of months and its working great.

Reinstall Visual Studio

I re-installed VS but to no use....
i found on some forum that the VS Web Authoring component should be removed, but
after doing this i am not able to view the page in design view.
Any other options or resolutions???

Was this your first attempt at the question above ? It still makes no sense. I can't even begin to guess what you mean. Try explaining it with a more concrete example.

Hey...
You mean you want to call a function of ASPX page from your object. Is it remote aspx, or local one. If it is local one to the same application, you can do it by creating an object of the class corresponds to the aspx page..
or otherwise make the function static one and call it using Classname.
Really.. as all others suggested, you need to read basic books on C# before you ask anything.

If he wants to call a method in his ASPX, he needs to move that method out of his ASPX, because it clearly does not belong there.

Yes ... I agree, calling an ASPX class is really not making any sense if we are to use it as a normal class.
Not making any sense.. as to his question...

Is this what your meaningless posts above are about ? OK, no-one wants to give you a hard time for not being a native English speaker, but you DO need to work harder, if you want native english speakers to be able to help you.
1 - you can't inherit ANYTHING from two classes in C#. That you ask this, means you need to read a basic book before asking us stuff
2 - DON'T ask things over and over. It only frustrates us. You're getting free help. Ask intelligently, then be patient.

Hi, I have created a custome control DLL for Survey questions, I deployed the solution on GoDaddy shared hosting, after working for 3 months it suddenly stopped.
URL http://wsmysql.flexdna.com/home.aspx
Error Says
Required permissions cannot be acquired.
I did use PermCalc.exe to find out what permissions are exactly causing this error, I can replicate the error on local machin by adding <trust level="Medium" originUrl=""/> tab
If it is related to permissions why the hell it worked in first place.
Anyways I used permcalc tool and it gives me following output, can some one give me a pointer as what exact permission this DLL needs
Outout XML
I have gone through various articles for configuring medium trust level web.config, but looks like I 'm working in some wrong direction, If I can nail what permissions are required, I can fix and request GoDaddy to allow them, or change the provider
-Sanbox option for PermCalc.exe returns a blank XML!!
What I need is a Custom Medium trust level settings which will allow this DLL permissions required or if I know what part has to be changed in code, I'll change accordingly.
Thanks
