I can't imagine that you would be having thousands of new members signing up at each website, so I would build a webservice that would allow Website A to create a registered user in Website B and vice versa. Hi all
I want to restrict users to access Java script files and CSS files using URL absolute path. Like if user type http://www.xyzxyz123.com/common.js this, browser will give a prompt to save the common.js file or it will open the js file content. So i want to restrict this type of access.
I had searched on google but i didn't get the solution can anybody suggest me a solution for this. Thanks for your time and consideration. Please help me.

Cannot be done.
You can try to hide your JavaScript and CSS in obfuscated files, but since the user's browser needs to have it in order to display your page, the resourceful user can always distill it back from there.

I'm trying to detect if my ATL control is installed on the users system in IE8. I am using the following vbscript code:

The problem is that the detection fails if the control has been installed by the user running firefox (or any other non-IE browser) and when the user later returns to the same page using IE8.
This is because IE8 blocks the object creation with an "Add-on disabled, Run add-on?" drop down info bar. My javascript/vbscript has no way to detect this situation, so i force a download ... which is is at best confusing to the user.
Anyone have a suggestion on what else i could try? Perhaps there is another way to detect this scenario. Or perhaps my installer needs to register something extra with IE8/windows when installed outside of the IE8 process.

Don't try anything. Just let the user and the browser manage this as it is intended. Anything else is sort of like madness.

Why open excel without sheet????, makes no sense to me, even if i open excel directly he always shows a new sheet.

Dear All,
I have performance issue in javascript
Html with about 30-50 form controls ,textbox ,radios...
I done javascript function to parse forms control ,get name and get the value and
added these values to xmlDocument
xmlDoc=new ActiveXObject("Microsoft.XMLDOM");
xmlDoc.async=true;
and append the the nodes
every thing works fine
i saved xmlDocument in xml file almost size 12-15 kb
I want to speed up the process using threads to add nodes in xmlDocument
I done search i want perfect library to use in my project??

But I put page in windows server 2003 and access it from my pc
its tooooooooook allllott of time to done parsing html control,Imessure speed but alert before paring and alert after paring

HI,
i am using CR XI with VS 2008, from the crystal report web viewer the landscape report not print, however report options set to page = A4 and orientation = Landscape. when send this report from crystal report web viewer it always pint as Portrait and page size = Letter.
Is there any solution for that , i could print my report as landscape,

Hi Folks:
I've done Google searches, looked for books on Amazon, looked up this topic here at this website and have more questions than answers.
Quite simply, I will have a webcam (Logitech 9000) installed on my Windows 2003 business server platform.
All I want to do is to be able to "receive" the live video stream from my camnera from a client browser over the net. I think I need some client HTML as well as some server code to do this?
Any help appreciated.

Do you want to stream video, or stills ? Video would come from a windows media player control, I am not sure how to set that up on a server, but I doubt it's hard. Stills is easy, a paget that auto updates and shows an image, and a server that overwrites the image with a new one every 5 seconds or something.

Hi Christian,
I want to stream "real" time, live video. I plan to set up a webcam in front of an animatronic character. I will be able to control it's movements thru a browser over the net. I need to see "real" time my animatronic character as I press buttons on my webpage to make it move it's arm, open it's eyes, etc .....
Any idea's?

I'm sorry, no idea beyond what I said. If you google for windows media player, then read up on how to embedd one in a page ( easy ) and how to connect it to a stream it may lead you to info on how to create the stream. Getting a .NET app or C++ app to get your video stream is trivial, feeding it over the web is the bit I am unsure about ( that is, I've never done it )

Flash should be able to do the stuff you need - especially flash media server (but its expensive). Or, You can use flash for the video and the language of your choice for th interaction.

1AVStreamer streams audio and video from your webcam embedded in a page inside your own website. It is all automatic and very easy to setup. The PC Desktop, TV tuners and DV cameras are also supported. The program also broadcasts audio alone. if you dont want the audio you can stream your webcam via FTP. 1AVStreamer also does that.
I don't know about the coding but this ready-to-use software is cheap and will get you what you want.
