Hi,
I have got a weird problem opening a simple .aspx page using a Javascript on the click of ASP.net server control. It works perfectly fine in my local system.
Scenario: The application is deployed to production server. Clients get remote access to the application thr' Netilla platform which runs in https mode.
Code snippet:
Protected Sub LinkButton2_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles LinkButton2.Click
'Pop up new window for address collection...
Dim x As String
x = lstPickup.SelectedValue
Dim sb As New System.Text.StringBuilder()
sb.Append("<script language='javascript'>")
sb.Append("alert('" & x & "');")
sb.Append("window.open('CollectionAddress.aspx?selectedPickup=" + x + "', 'CollectionAddressPage',")
sb.Append("'width=500, height=500, menubar=yes, resizable=no');")
sb.Append("</script>")
Dim t As Type
t = Me.GetType()
If Not ClientScript.IsClientScriptBlockRegistered(t, "PopupScript") Then
ClientScript.RegisterClientScriptBlock(t, "PopupScript", sb.ToString())
End If
End Sub
The application URL looks is http://myApplication/Reserve.aspx but when browsed using Netilla it looks like..
https://ras.abc.co.uk/,host=192.168.145.32,port=80,proto=http/myApplication/Reserve.aspx
Okay..now the funny thing is that the same code works if it is copied to another new pages with nothing but just the above code and a button.
Weird.
Any help would be appreciated.
Many thanks

Hi all,
i want to open an existing word document in a folder in the project,path of that file is stored in oracle table.
When i click a link button a query should be executed to take the corresponding path,then with that path the file should be opened.
i tried like this..
Private Sub Linkbutton6_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Linkbutton6.Click
Dim str As String
Dim command As String = "SELECT FILENAME FROM S_TR_BUILDDATA A WHERE 1= (SELECT COUNT(DISTINCT B.DATEOFBUILD ) FROM
S_TR_BUILDDATA B WHERE A.DATEOFBUILD <=B.DATEOFBUILD) "
Dim DFmenu As DataSet = Me.ExecuteSql(command)
str = DFmenu.Tables(0).Rows(0).Item(0)
System.Diagnostics.Process.Start(str)
' Response.Redirect(str)
End Sub
its getting filled in dataset..
but the file is not opening..

System.Diagnostics.Process.Start(str)
' Response.Redirect(str)
Response.Redirect(Server.MapPath(str));

Hi All,
Can anyone plse tell me tat,wat is the diffrence between calling javascript function throuh onclient click of button(client side) and
adding attribute to tat button(server side)?
ex:
<asp:button accesskey="C" id="btnClear" onclientclick="return Validate()" runat="server" text="Clear" <="" asp:button="">
btnClear.Attribute.Add("OnClick",return Validate()" )
Regards

Doesn't the name suggest the meaning.
OnClick is used to trigger some server method(C#, VB.Net) where as OnClientClick will fire the Client methods(Javascript)

For dynamic controls, using Control.Attribute.Add() you can add client side script.
Education is not a way to escape poverty — it is a way of fighting it.

Both are same. In case of OnClientClick the asp:Button will render the a submit button, and OnClick will evaluate your javascript. Same as Attributes.add

Hi,
I have made a small application in ASP.Net in which whenever the user registers a mail is send to his/her account.
It is working sucessfully on my Local machine.
But when i deploy it on the server it is giving some error.
Following is the snippet from web.config
<system.net>
<mailSettings>
<smtp from="admin@formbag.com">
<network host="someipaddress" port="25" userName="username" password="password" defaultCredentials="true" />
</smtp>
</mailSettings>
</system.net>
Is there some settings I am missing on server or something else.
Thanks in advance.!

No errors.. I have checked the event viewer as well as my application lob, but no errors. Its just the mails are not going.

Did you check the SMTP Queue ?
|

In your initial post you have written it is giving some error.
Without knowing error it is very difficult to suggest.Have u implement proper error handling to catch errors

Oh I am sorry .. It is not giving any error but it is just not sending the mails.
I have created a global exception handling mechnism, and there are no errors logged.
I am sorry for the misleading information.

What error are you getting?
Check the following
1. Deployed server has SMTP Configured
2. Credentials are Correct

Is there any requirement to setup SMTP server on the Server as i am providing the connections settings of the SMTP in the web.config
The mailing server is different from the deployment server.

Did you understand what I have asked ?
Does your deployed Server has SMTP Configured ? It means If you have deployed your application on IIS Server, you IIS should have also SMTP Configure [ If your SMTP is different ]

HI deezZ,
Checkout does you have any firewall restriction in server, as you can send the mail from local machine their would be some possibilities for this.
|
|
|
|

Nopes.. there are no firewall which is blocking the mails.
