That's because it works based on articles from the last 2 weeks. If there are few articles posted specifically with the ASP.NET attribute, or people just haven't been voting on ASP.NET articles, then a non-voted will be pulled into the list.

I know you told me that this stuff was supposed to be cleared out, but it keeps popping up from time to time. Just got this one, resulting in the typical page not found error:
http://www.codeproject.com/script/Ann/ServeHTML.aspx?C=False&id=3025[^]
I had cleared my IE browser cache / history a while back thinking I was getting old stuff, so not really sure why it still lives.
Not a biggie to me, but thought you'd want to know.

On what page did you see that? I've traced through everything and that page should never be called.

Lounge home page (my default landing place).
I know you said last time that it was probably just cached ads on my box, but since I cleared the IE browser history / files / etc. I thought you'd want to know.
I think the hamsters may be having a little fun with you.

An article has come up for approval, this one[^]. The author of the article states that he found the code on the web, but cannot remember where, or who the original author was.
I know that I would be dischuffed if someone posted some of my code, without asking and I am therefore a little uncertain as to how to vote. I know that the poster has asked the original author to step forward, but I am uncomfortable with this situation.
Any advice/opinions, please.

I agree it's a tricky situation because, without being able to find the original code, we can't actually confirm that indeed this code comes from somewhere else.
The author has been open and immediately upfront about wanting to know the code's source, so I'm going to take a wait-and-see approach and hope that someone, somewhere will be able to shed some light on the code.
As soon as we know more we can make a decision from there.

Hi, I'm visiting the home page every morning to look for new articles. My filtered Category is "MFC/C++" and there are quite few of them nowadays.
But I noticed that some new C++ articles don't show on the home page (a WTL article last week and today Starting with SQLite in C++[^]). At the same time older C++ articles are still showing.
Just wondering if this is normal or if I should set something in my profile to have a wider Category of articles ?
I would just like to see all C/C++ articles.
Just wanted to tell you about that.
Thanks
Yarp

In the first section of the code project FAQ questions 8 & 9 are duplicates. As are questions 3 & 10. (although with slightly different answers).

CP Doesn't have features like adding images with Message Reply.
Alternative solution :You can upload the image on any image hosting site and provide the url in the message

Hi,
What is the CodeProject policy regarding videos embeded from youtube and SVG grafics? I have an article about numerical simulations in which I'd like to use the video for demonstrating the result of a simulation and the svg graphic for diagramms. In addition i would suggest to drop the 600 pixel width limit for images. The limit is a good idea but it prohibits me from showing pictures side by side if they are wider than 300 pixel. What about increasing it to 800 pixel? This should still be sufficient even for netbooks and i don't think people actually use code project from the display of a washing machine or a navigation system.
Best Regards

We already support Flash/Silverlight videos in articles, as long as they are hosted offsite. As to YouTube videos we'll certainly think about it. There's a video icon in the article WYSIWYG editor that helps
As to the image size limit, it's here to stay because while you may have a nice wide laptop, those viewing on mobile devices or those looking to print our pages are out of luck. Our suggestion is to post a thumbnail and link to a full sized version of an image. This saves page layout and most importantly saves bandwidth for your readers.

CP Team,
There is another outburst (on the pretext of joke icon) where professionalism is traded in the response:
http://www.codeproject.com/Messages/3090453/Re-ARCGIS-Please-help-Its-urgent.aspx[^].
Now, expletives in vernacular languages seems to be striking the surface of the forums. Can the moderation initiative be little expedited to save the forums and ensure a cleaner presentation/face of it?
