I have a stored procedure which inserts data to table and returns id of inserted data.
When I tried to execute procedure using CRecordset open method , i got exception because recordsets can only do selection (readonly).
But I saw that Addnew and Update methodes can be used to ınsert new data using recordset.
Is there any workaround for open method to execute inserts?

Take a look at the parameter dwOptions of CRecordset::Open[^]. I'm suspecting that you're probably opening it with CRecordset::readOnly flag, while you must be opening it with CRecordset::none or CRecordset::appendOnly (depending on your needs)

Hi ,
I have a control variable for ComboBox in Dialogbased application....ie
CComboBox m_Combo;
now when im doing..
m_Combo.SetWindowText(_T("Test"));
UpdateData(FALSE);
the above line of code is not changing the combo selected item to Test where as Test
is one of the item in ComboBoxList..

Firstly, you don't need to use UpdateData() because you're already using a control variable (which means that you're directly operating on the control itself). Next, CComboBox should have a member, something like AddString() , which is what you should be using to add a new string to it.

The correct answer for such question is "read the fine manual" aka RTFM
Press F1 for help or google it.

So, not only you're lazy, won't buy a book, but you've got multiple logins for CP. I just received this *same* rubbish from p_1960 (the poster below AKA YOU) as another reply. Now, I see that is deleted.
Can you explain?

WTF are you talking about? Both IDs have been around for 3 to 4 months and you've been consistently posting messages (100+) from both and you want me to believe your bullshit that you forgot the password and such nonsense, even after you've posted stuff from both IDs a few hours back?!
You're humiliating yourself. I shall not be interested in talking to you any more.
