Your code works fine for me as is.
The only thing I can imagine is that perhaps you have spaces in the file name and Window's command processor is not dealing with them appropriately.
Note that the output of mysqlbinlog is a fairly complicated format that includes much more than just the queries run, but you should be able to find them in the output.
Cheers,

Hi guys,
I have a service that runs and a taskbar icon that allows user to interface with the service. But the taskbar icon is only displayed for the user it was installed for. The service runs for everyone. By everyone i mean all users that log on to that machine even users that remote desktop on the machine but the taskbar icon does not. Is there anyway i can do this?
SystemTray.getDefaultSystemTray().addTrayIcon(disconnectIcon);

Does anyone know the percentage of computers that can run Java applets?
The only stats I found are from Sun (2008)[^] and are not very detailed or up to date.

Java has become an integral part of our daily lives...
20 million Java powered TV devices
800M+ Java desktop computers, 91% of worldwide desktops
2.1B Java enabled mobile devices
3.5B Java cards
6B total Java devices
7M+ Project GlassFish downloads
Not much detail there.

Hello,
I have a textbox that hold a social security number. I'm using javascript and the onkeypress event to auto format the text as the user types, i.e. they type 123 and then a dash is automatically inserted as the 4th character. The problem is that there is a one character lag so that the user doesn't know the dash has been appended until they enter their next character. What I'd like to know is if there is a way to refresh the textbox immediately after the dash is entered so that the user sees it on screen before they type again. The working code snippet is below.
Thank you in advance.
s1 = new String(Form1.f4.value)
if(s1.length == 3 || s1.length == 6)
{
s1 += "-";
Form1.f4.value = s1
}

Javascript != Java, this is more appropriate for the Web Development Forum[^].
Anyway, to answer your question, use the onkeyup event.

Hello,
i've made a program that runs fine when i run it with netbeans (F6), but when i build the project and launch the application, one of the two main frames doesn't appear! Heres my Main code:
java.awt.EventQueue.invokeLater(new Runnable() {
public void run() {
new Menu().setVisible(true);
}
});
java.awt.EventQueue.invokeLater(new Runnable() {
public void run() {
new ToolBar().setVisible(true);
}
});
}
When I run the program with netbeans, both the toolbar and menu (who both extend from JFrame) appear, but when i build the .jar and launch it, only the toolbar appears. Any idea why this might happen???
thanks
Dave
PS.: if im not in the right forum, what forum should this go in?
edit: Im loading a dll from the jar, and it launches fine when i double-click on it, but when i launch from the console, an error says it cant find the dll and the program exits

problem "solved"
for some reason the executable didn't like the absolute layout, so i changed it for a freeDesign... still no clue why, since it runs fine within netbeans:P

If you choose "Absolute Layout" in NetBeans Matisse (the GUI designer) it uses a layout manager called org.netbeans.lib.awtextra.AbsoluteLayout which is not part of the standard Swing toolkit. If you choose "Free Design" it uses javax.swing.GroupLayout which (as you might guess from the name) is a standard Swing class. My guess is that AbsoluteLayout has some sort of dependency on other NetBeans classes which is going a bit wrong when you deploy it.
Generally speaking, Java Swing applications tend not to use absolute layouts (there are always exceptions, of course) and I would say that if you are happy to do all your visual design through the NetBeans GUI, you can stick to Group Layout ("free design") as it will do 99% of what you will ever want, and works very well with Matisse (they were designed in tandem, as far as I am aware).
If you find yourself hitting that 1% or wanting to roll your sleeves up and do some coding, there are plenty of other layout managers, of which I would recommend either JGoodies Forms or MiG Layout. Both excellent, both free.

Hello everyone, I'm trying to find the Java source code of the simple Client/Server program to transfer files using UDP protocol! Anyone help me!? Thanks

Hope you know UDP is not reliable, in the sense that packets can (and will, even on a lan) be lost...

If you go to Old Navy's site and mouseover one of their clothing items, an image pops that says "QuickLook". You can click the QuickLook image and a small pop-over (not up) window appears that allows you to use tabs within that window, select size, add to cart, etc.
I'm "thinking" this is a javascript, but I don't which one. I'd like to implement this on my site, rather than using pop-up windows or changing pages to view items.
Can anyone give me direction on how to make that work on my own website?
|
|
|
|
|
It is a div which is absolutely positioned using the image/page offset.
An easy way to do it is using JQuery[^]. Have a look at a couple of links here[^], the first link has a pretty good example, although you could always make the content of popup more dynamic using AJAX.
If at first you don't succeed, you're not Chuck Norris.
