That's because you're not a mentor. Sean is handling the mentor program so I'll pass your name to him and he will get back to you.

Our Mentor project is a specific project that was setup to help new article authors write better articles. Your contributons are known far and wide (hence your CodeProject MVP) but this program is different. Mentors are on-call to help proof-read, provide suggestions, encourage and hold the hand of authors.
I've passed your name to Sean who will get back to you with more information. If you would like to be a Mentor then we've got a spare toga.
cheers,

While Mentor was a cool character I find the bit about the Arisians committing racial suicide after their successors triumph to be something of a poor model to imitate.

Chris,
I must have had my head burried somewhere because ive not even heard of this. Im more than happy to do a bit of editing/mentoring - although ive not found the time to write many articles for CP (something im more embarrased about as the months go on) but im pretty sure I know the style and content requirements. I do a fair amount of technical writing professionally these days and its all helpful experience for me.
So, if there is anything I can do, do drop me a line.

I must have missed this - anyway, I'm more than happy to help if you need me.

Looks like you have a lot of interested people now.
Lesson 1: You want people to sign up for something: promise them a nice looking icon
Lesson 2: You want to reach as many people as possible: report it as a bug
Must admit was the first I heard of it as well.
I'd volunteer but I fear I'm not experienced enough to be a mentor (not yet anyway).

Hmmm.
Maybe I should post "Chris needs a new bike. Possibly a Look 596[^]" bug and then promise an icon of Bob on a bike to those who through whatever means possible (selling kidneys, extortion, rigging lotto draws) come through with the goods.

Since being awarded the Associate status, I seem to have lost my MVP icon; and being as vain as I am I'd like it back please.

Also, there is no associate entry on the membership types page[^] BTW.
