as the possibility of virus attack is more by enabling thses actice x controls .so that other than IE (to my Knowledge) is not keeping Actice X But you can make it active for example in Mozilla you type about:config in your browser url space...
Try it

Hello guys,
I needed to create a proxy by adding a web reference into my C# class library project, but there's been some issues configuring the thrid party product and the webservice they expose....so I have manually downloaded the WSDL file (its not asmx, its actually java/ibm web service).
Anyways, since i can't use the add web reference wizard from Visual studio anymore, I'd like to know how to I create a porxy (Reference.cs) file in my project using the WSDL file located on my C drive.
Can anyone point me to the right direction, I treid looking into Wsdl.exe but looks like it only support a URL and not a local path, if it does can someone point me to the right command syntax?
I'd appreciate your help.
Thanks
Tina

hi all,
how can i maintain gridview page index while navigation from the form and getting back by browser back button.
i tried to use this approach:
public int PageIndex
{
get
{
if (Session["DGApplicationPageIndex"] != null)
{
return (int)Session["DGApplicationPageIndex"];
}
else
{
return 0;
}
}
set
{
if (value != -1)
{
Session["DGApplicationPageIndex"] = value;
}
else
{
Session["DGApplicationPageIndex"] = null;
}
}
}
protected void DGApplication_PageIndexChanging(object sender, GridViewPageEventArgs e)
{
DoSearch(TextBox1.Text);
DGApplication.PageIndex = e.NewPageIndex;
PageIndex = DGApplication.PageIndex;
}
protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
if (!Page.IsPostBack)
{
DoSearch("-1");
}
DGApplication.PageIndex = PageIndex;
PageIndex = -1;
}
|
|
|
|
|
And what happens with this?
Why reset the page index??
PageIndex = -1;
only two letters away from being an asset

Here we are facing the problem : On the page complete contents are not displaying but while we check the Page source and copy/paste it into a static html page all contents will be displayed.
Is there any limitation of browser related to maximum length of a web page.
I googled and found that the limit of a web page should be 10-30KB but in the same project we have pages with length upto 55 KB.
Can anyone help me out?

Why are you putting so much data in same page.Its not a good practice.You can divide it on several pages accordingly.IIt'll take less time to load and also will be easy to maintain

Gaurav,
I will suggest you to read this article. which describes about the maximum size and How to calculate web page size.
Here Is the article
Read the "How to calculate web page size" section and try to minimize the page size.
Hope this will help you !

I am developing a content management Site and define custom roles.
Can anyone tell me the way how to get defined custom roles for my members and subsequent Menus for these roles and how to manage all these?
Please note: We are not using Asp.net Membership Provider, we have to apply our custom roles.

Then I think develop your own Role management system.Use database for it.and when loading page render the menu dynamically based on the role of user.

Use Database, Store Role along with the UserName. After authentication of user check the role from the database, based on that give the functionaly to the user.

I am getting the problem of aspxerrorpath.
I dont want asp.net to validate this variable, even when I have custom page error enabled. If I write something like
alert(7);'">https://...../asd.aspx?
aspxerrorpath=<script>alert(7);</script>' it throws an error and forward me to the aspx error page by default and not to one of my pre-defined custom error pages. Why? How can I override the aspxerrorpath behaviour?

So which error code it is throwing? Did you handled it in your web.config file ?

That's not an example, it's a line from your spec. you can't do that in ASP.NET. You can buy third party components that will do it. They will use ActiveX or Java. Of course, you can write your own in C++/ActiveX ( so will only work in IE ), or in Java.

The only real way to do this in ASP.NET, is to flood the server with AJAX calls. ASP.NET is not really suited to doing this, unless it's a low traffic site, or you have big servers.
