I cannot use a Virtual path here because, this path is obtained from a browse button text field. The user will be selecting file from any physical location on the disc and my program is supposed to preview it. It is working fine with IE6... but not in IE7 
How can I achieve this?

This is normal behavior, in IE6 this is security problem. Unless user uploaded something to page, neither JS or ASP should be able to access any information of that file.
All new browsers in FileUpload html element don't anymore show file path, instead only file name.
I think you will have to do it without preview.

Actually,the requirement is explained as follows:
In a shopwebsite,I am planning to show a table which contains 24cells as hours per day and 7 rows as weekdays.In which I need to show opening hours which is getting from the database,as shaded in colors.

Hi,
"System.Configuration.ConfigurationManager.AppSettings" I cannot get ConfigurationManager to show up as an option in intelesense. It shows as an error if I try to use it anyway.

Go to your Solution Explorer and Right click on your Web Project and go to Properties. In the in the Properties Dialog, look for References and Click on add Reference and look for System.Configurations. after that in your application in the usings , add it and everything will be fine.

Then I guess your regex is broken. I suggest you download expresso and/or buy the book 'mastering regular expressions' to learn how they work. You should also break down your regex, removing a part at a time until you work out which bit is broken, and then work out why, or ask a more specific question here that shows you've tried to solve your own problem

hi all
i create a virtual directory in IIS 6, it contains all PDF files
i tried to open it from my client in same lan with Internet Explorer... it show me following error message
" You are not authorised to view this page"....
how can i solved this error ????...
i tried by giving Integred windows authentication
but falied... 
what should i do ??? should i give impersonation ???

no i want to just view these PDF files from my client...but when i click link it ask me for server password (authentication) if i give administrator and password
then it shows me in IE "You are not authorised to view this page"

Well, there are small things that you can do with @Media CSS element. Check W3School for all the things you can do.
From your code you can just open Print Dialog of the browser using Window.Print. You can make a Div and print a div as well. But Customization is totally depends on the User, I think. User have to specify the page size and all margins himself.

Hi all,
I have an old project that have to be integrated to a new one, the issue i encountered is about Globalization and Localization, the old project uses .resx files for local resources and the new project uses database to store resources.
Can i use database and resx files as resource storage at the same time? when the project share only one config?
if not, can anybody have an idea how the two ways will work? Or there's no other choice but to transfer to database all the items in the 50+ resx files?
