you can use this component with .Net, c# and VB.. http://www.socialcontactsimporter.net Worked on our web site like a dream and works with all the major providers, Hotmail, Gmail, Yahoo, Outlook, Outlook Express, Firefox and so on..
We tried a number of ways even creating our own but was no good because the email providers (hotmail etc,) kept on changing their web sites making our code break.. Dont waist your time. Life is too short.
They also do hourly testing to make sure it works.

Hi,
I have created a "usercontrol" using vs.net 2003 with c#. In that Form I have placed a Panel and below to that panel add one horizontal scrollbar control. While I am trying to view the extreme right content of the Panel with the help of horizontal scroll bar the panel content is not viewable.(ie Panel content is not moving left- right)
And also I set "this.pnlWorkArea1.AutoScroll = true;" and its showing scrollbar but its not moving beyond the current viewable area.
Example: From the panel i am plotting graph with numbers 1 to 40 only its viewable up to 25.
Its urgent... Please help
Thanks,

thank you.

Do you want to open the text file on Notepad from your application without using process class? If yes, work with Win32 functions like, ShellExecute[^] or CreateProcess[^]. To use those functions from C#, you need P/invoke.

That makes it sound like homework.
Process.Start seems like the correct way to do this, why don't you want to do it that way? Does the assignment say not to?

If you want to open a text file (i.e a file that contains text not the Notepad application) use a StreamReader.
If you want to open Notepad application see other posts.

Hello,
Will my apps based on .NET frameWork 2.0 work on computers with any higher version of the framework installed?
Thanks.

You have to install the Correct Framework. Meaning the target framework you used to compile your application. Now if you are creating a setup project there is an option that says "AllowLaterVersion" if you set it to true, this will allow you to run your 2.0 project in a 3.5 environment

Hello forum,
I need help. In my program I use a rich text box to display a text file. This text file contains some normal text and a special character "ë". User can modify this text file. To save the updated file I used below code :
TextWriter tw = new StreamWriter(@label3.Text);
tw.WriteLine(rtEngData.Text);
tw.Close();
Note :Here label3 contains the file name.
while saving the file I found one problem. The character "ë" is changed with "ë". I don't know why but it happens.
Can any one suggest me what to do to solve this problem.
I want to save the file as it is in the richtextedit.
waiting for any kind reply.......
Thanks

You need to specify the correct encoding. System.Text.Encoding[^] class can be used for various supported encoding. I believe you need to use Encoding.UTF8[^]. StreamWriter 's constructor has an overload which takes Encoding . You can use that.

Unrelated: What's with the @ in @label3? It seems unnecessary.

I presume you mean in Winforms.
DOCK is the property you are looking for. Your user control will have a dock property.
User the Z order (bring to front/ send to back) of the control to manage the positioning in the control hierarchy.

Which is what Mycroft was also talking about. You need to write the code to do what you need, it isn't magic.
