I would imagine your best bet then is to buy a book and learn more about VB. Passing in a project based on source code you got from the web is not only immoral, but you're bound to get caught out. You think your teachers don't know how to use google ?

You need to talk to your tutor and talk soon.
You are obviously in beyond your ability and will fail your course if you don't get with the course work.
How long have you got for this assignment? When was it issued?
I'm going to guess you've got a couple of weeks left and you've been sitting on this for three months. *YOU FAIL*

You can't find the source code anywhere (unless you want to get caught.) You have to write it yourself

You're not going to find such source anywhere. YOU have to write it yourself. If you just downloaded it off the web, you deserve the fail, and fail big!
biman_s wrote: but I want to make this project stand out from the rest
The only way that's going to happen is if you write the code yourself.
biman_s wrote: Is there any website where I can find valuable source code for this?
No.
biman_s wrote: Is there anyone here who can help me with this?
Only if you have specific questions on your code. If you ask how to design such an application, you're sunk before you even begin.

Doubt it as any seriously done project of these said topics, the author isn't going to just give out the source code.
biman_s wrote: Is there anyone here who can help me with this?
Nope, only if a considerable sum of money is paid up front
So, probably best advise for you is to carefully plan out whatever topic you choose, and when you run into issues with the project, ask for help on a specific part of it.

Hello Every one,
I am want addition of listview text and display it in label
For eg:
There is one listview and there are 3 records in it (100,200,300)respectively.
now what i want is total of all these records and display it in lable1.text
total =100+200+300(This numeric values comes from database)
label1.text=total
and this should happen each time at listview mouse double click event
I stated below code in listview mouse double click event
Dim Tot As Integer = 0
For i As Integer = 0 To Me.lstview2.Items.Count - 1
Tot += CInt(Me.lstview2.SelectedItems(i).SubItems(i).Text)
Tot += CInt(Me.lstview2.SelectedItems(i).SubItems(i).Text)
Next
Me.Label1.Text = Tot
but this only gives me position of the selected text
So how shall i approach please suggest...
Thank You

Change your code to something like this:
Dim Tot As Integer = 0<br />
<br />
For i As Integer = 0 To Me.lstview2.Items.Count - 1<br />
Tot += CInt(Me.lstview2.Items(i).SubItems(1).Text)<br />
Next<br />
<br />
Me.Label1.Text = Tot
you may have to change then 1 in 'SubItems(1)' to the column where your numbers are stored.

I have a solution that contains both a vb.net and c# project. I'd love to be able to compile them together into a single .dll assembly. But is it possible?

I am trying to get the windows installer to launch a .exe after install with now luck.
Has anyone successfully done this?
Yes, I have found instructions online,but I still get nothing to happen.
Here is what i do. I create a test setup project and go to Custom actions --> Right click on INSTALL and add custom action. I then select application folder and then add file and select a exe file.
Everything looks ok, but when I install nothing happens and it does not run anything.
Questions:
Can the exe I want to launch be anywhere on PC or does it have to be in project folders?
Am I doing everything correct? (Probably not or it would work.)
Thank you
I can't think of anything cool and nerdy to say.

Hello,
I am relatively new to VBA, but have had some experience with programming overall. I am trying to write VBA code to export the same 2 images from a program with different file names. I've gotten the function to work with 1 image, but can't get the function calls right to get the 2nd image created. Do I need to call the function twice? I have tried several things, but am stuck. I know this is pretty rudimentary, which is why it bothers me so much!
Thanks in advance for any help.

Typically I would approach this as something like:
Call exportImage(ImageID,ExportFilename)
Then this function would work for any image and allow you to save it with any filename.
I could be of more help if you could describe your problem with more detail and possibly post your function source code.
What application are you using ? (Word,Excel,Powerpoint,Access ...)
How are you determining which image should be exported ?

Hi All, I have an application with a parent table and several child tables that load on startup. The application had been working perfectly until recently. The problem started when I added a filter to fine tune the data that is returned. I'm doing this with a parameterized stored procedure and now receive the dreaded FK constraint error during the initial fill of the child adaptors, after the parent adaptor is filled. Once I clear the error (which is passed out to a message box) the child adaptors will fill and the app works great. Do the stored procedures that fill the child adaptors also need to be parameterized?
I have the relation between the parent\child tables in my dataset set to “Both Relation And Foreign Key Constraint” and “Cascade” on Update\Delete. The filter is a checkedlistbox and all data is returned with sprocs. Only the parent stored procedure has parameters. TblOrganizationTableAdapter is the parent table. Here is my code:
Public Sub btnOrgFilter_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles btnOrgFilter.Click
'create list that contains the checked items in the org filter checkbox
Dim orgFilter As New ArrayList
If clbOrgFilter.CheckedItems.Count <> 0 Then
Dim X As Integer
For X = 0 To clbOrgFilter.CheckedItems.Count - 1
orgFilter.Add(clbOrgFilter.CheckedItems(X))
Next X
End If
'change the list items in the array to thier corresponding org type ID's
Dim i As Integer
For i = 0 To orgFilter.Count - 1
Select Case orgFilter.Item(i)
Case "Other"
orgFilter.Item(i) = "0"
Case "Prospect"
orgFilter.Item(i) = "1"
Case "Investment"
orgFilter.Item(i) = "2"
Case "Vendor"
orgFilter.Item(i) = "3"
Case "Client"
orgFilter.Item(i) = "4"
End Select
Next
'concatenate the array ID's into a comma-delimited string
Dim result = String.Join(",", orgFilter.ToArray(GetType(String)))
'load main form with filter result
Try
Me.TblOrganizationTableAdapter.FillByOrgType(Me.OrganizationDataSet.tblOrganization, result)
Me.TblOrgNoteTableAdapter.Fill(Me.OrganizationDataSet.tblOrgNote)
Me.TblContactTableAdapter.Fill(Me.OrganizationDataSet.tblContact)
Me.TblOrgAddressTableAdapter.Fill(Me.OrganizationDataSet.tblOrgAddress)
Me.TblMeetingTableAdapter.Fill(Me.OrganizationDataSet.tblMeeting)
Me.TblMeetingParticipantTableAdapter.Fill(Me.OrganizationDataSet.tblMeetingParticipant)
Catch ex As Exception
MessageBox.Show(ex.ToString)
End Try
End Sub

Wow, 10 hours in and still no responses. From this you should take away that the more experienced developers (the ones who answer questions on the forum) do NOT use the built in adapters in this manner. I have rarely used the relationships within a Dataset and manage all my data via a DAL.
Never underestimate the power of human stupidity

To correct this problem I created sprocs for the child tables which use the same parameter as the parent. The error was being generated by trying to fill the child adaptors with a non-filtered result set.

Hi,
can u please tell the difference among method , function and subroutine
method
private sub abc()
End Sub
Function
private int abc()
return 0
Exit Function
please explain the subroutine

Well, surely you must be completely illiterate to read this code and not see the difference ?

functions return a value whereas subroutines (aka methods) do not.
