there is. it is stickylessness. Actually double stickylessness (how to ask, and how to answer). Exists in many forums. Which I have reported earlier to little avail.

I started a new session a minute ago by clicking on the lounge link (from an old C# forum page) and got the custom error page (I didn't note the ticket number). I hit the back button and tried again, reaching the lounge but having all new posts marked read.

We had an error in the code that was causing logons to fail. This would have caused a new session to be created.
This is the problem with session based 'new messages since...' tracking. If you have any ideas on how to make this more robust yet still seamless then I'd love to hear your thoughts.

There seems to be problems with html tags in messages. Sometimes, when you cut/paste, not all of the pointy brackets get converted. Sometimes, the markup for the message itself (like the code tag) is converted to the ampersand markup and it borks up what you intended to show.

Is it possible to vote 1 without leaving explanation again? At least that happened to my latest article[^] (also it seems someone randomly voted messages in the article forum).
In fact, I don't think this requirement of leaving a message for votes 1 and 2 makes much sense anyway (3 becomes new 1), just want to make sure whether it was lifted or someone is gaming the system.

Perhaps whoever voted it 1 also renamed the subject line.

And I've also observed what I believe to be anonymous fresh accounts people create to vote a 1 because they don't want to risk a retaliation vote by using their regular CP profile to cast the vote.

I don't think so - the vote wasn't there last night and there are no new messages since then.

When I try to reply, I get this :

Then when I try again, I get this :

•There was an error attempting to insert your message.
Then when I refresh, the message is there. Kinda weird. Maybe it was just a temporary glitch.

Yeah works fine for me too. Chris's self-modifying and self-correcting quasi-intelligent Maunder-library seems to have resolved the issue without disturbing the humans

Hi,
I got that too, on all forums, not only this sunday but also sunday one week ago. I don't think there is a self-correcting intelligent software involved, seems more like a bug that gets fixed by admin intervention as soon as someone gets at it.

I just opened CP in a second browser to test something, and instead of using the same timestamp for marking new messages as the first browser it used a more recent one. IIRC the time I started my current browser1 session. Is this by design?

The timestamp is session based, so if you open a new browser you're starting a new session, so the timestamp of the last visit will be different.

I think it would help the site significantly if the tech-heads that publish (which I'm grateful for) could have feed-back on grammar/spelling. It is hard to read articles that contain errors in grammar.
Maybe add a second vote control that is dedicated to grammar/spelling? I do not wish to ridicule articles, but believe the poor writing of many articles brings down the pedigree of codeproject.com. It's ironic that many of articles containing wonderful technical information with original content suffer terribly from this problem.
At present, I do not want to vote down an article that I like that also has bad grammar, and I do not want to comment at the bottom or send a private message to the author, nor do I want to have to take that much time to do so.
