+1 for the MX Revolution. I'm quite angry at myself for losing the receiver for it...

Never clean any of it, but then the cleaners don't clean the office very well either. Had to do my screen the other day as I bit into a tomato and all the seeds and stuff squirted all over my screen. I don't recommend them as screen cleaners....We used to have a chap who regularly sneezed all over his screen at least once a day - it was disgusting - his screen that is

I use a can of air to blow out dust and gunk from the keyboard every 2-3 months or so. I still have an old IntelliMouse Explorer v1.0, and I can't tell if it's dirty or the finish is just worn down from many years of use. Probably a bit of both.
I occasionally blow dust out of my lappy's fans and exhaust vents, although I really should do that part more often.

I worked with a guy who would clean not only his key board and mouse but also his telephone whenever anyone walked into his cube. Just a bit strange if you ask me.

Yes, he is. When he buys a bottle of soda, he washes it for 10 minutes before opening it. What's strange is, he has the filthiest car that I have ever seen and at times even his clothes look dirty. I have read where some of these germophobes are so afraid of dirt that they don't wash certain things. He is also one of the smartest programmers that I have ever met. Go figure. :confused

I hope you don't fell this is cynical,
but at the time I'm typing this,
there are nine (9 !) who clean their
keyboards daily.
Why do I feel that someone has waaaaaaay tooooooo much time on their hands?*
* DUst can't settle on a busy keyboard !

I have seen many CPU heat sinks totally loaded with "dust bunnies." Of course, by that time, it has generally been a "port mortum" to see why the computer died!
It is especially important if you locate your CPU on the floor, to pop the case and blow out all of the dust on a regular basis. Yearly is NOT too often! My personal computers at home get cleanned out on a six month rotation...

However it is more frequently if there is a bottle of Windex in the same room.

I am one of the people who need to clean the mouse weekly (track ball helped). I clean my key board every month or so. The computer we take outside and wear masks and safety glasses to blow the dust bunnies out every year or two.
Forgot to say when I clean the monitors is when I point to something and the dust falls off.

This survey reminds me of a high school science experiment I did a long time ago. We were tasked with taking cultures of everyday objects and seeing if we could get anything to grow on an agar dish. Our team took swabs from a urinal, car tires, lockers and a teachers keyboard. After two weeks in a warm dark environment, the culture from the teachers keyboard had twice as much 'stuff' growing on it than anything else! The next was the culture from the lockers, then the tires, and the urinal was the cleanest.

Whenever I spill my coffee and it gets into the keyboard.
It's really only a token gesture, making the keyboard comfortable as its keys stop working one-by-one.
Fortunately, I am right-handed, so it only disables the less-important keys, such as those on the keypad and ENTER.

Never Ever!
They will be exchanged every 6 month.
Monitor are cleaned regularely, at least once a week.

Does turning the keyboard upside down and banging it on the desk count as a clean?
The monitor on the other hand gets a wipe every now and then. I hate people who poke the screen and point out someting, bloody fingerprints on the monitor .

I hate it when the enter key gets all squishy, you just know there is something ugly under there. I usually retire the keyboard about then by declaring it a bio hazard.

I'd retire my keyboard, except it's the best Guitar Hero 3 keyboard ever - Works with all the keys, and good to play!
Granted, I COULD pay $150 for the little guitar, but that's totally besides the point
