I, and many others, find it hard enough working out what some people mean when English isn't their first language without having to try and work out what word they thought they meant. The clearer your explanation the more likely you are to get a useful answer.

I am having an dynamic menu control in my page. Issue is top menu is displaying, however the submenus under each menu is not visibile at all in IE8. Any idea why it is happening? Is there some error on IE8? Or should I do something to make it invisible?
It is visible in IE7,Firefox etc. Please help

I want to pass parameters from aspx page to RDL server report.
Using Cross posting i am able to access the parameters from the previous page and also the know which is the previous page.
Thus dynamically bind the report and pass the parameters .
But my requirement is i want to open the report page on new window.
Also know the previuos page(parameter page.)
I want to know whether querystring or session will work best for me.
if there are any other solution let me know.
thanks in advance

ReportViewer.ServerReport.SetParameters(param1);

hi Abhishek thx for replying
i want to know how do i access the parameters from the previuos page,
when i opened the report page in new window.
Which will be the optimum solution(querystring,session or something else)
|
|
|
|
|
Optimum solution is the context transfer. If you are using window.open.. the best way is doing through querystring.

Hi all,
<a href= "filename.xls" target="_blank" >Open Excel</a>
by using above line of code i can able to open the excel file as separate file.
But i want to open that excel file with in the same asp.net web page not separately.
|
|
|
|
|

You can use this to open a new window.
<a href= "yourpage.aspx" target="_blank" >Open Excel</a>
Place this in the handler to the page or just write the content to the page in code behind.
Response.ContentType = "application/vnd.ms-excel";
string sFile = Server.MapPath("MyExcel.xls");
using(FileStream fs = new FileStream(sFile, FileMode.Open, FileAccess.Read))
{
byte[] b = new byte[(int)fs.Length];
fs.Read(b, 0, (int)fs.Length);
fs.Close();
}
Response.Clear();
Response.BinaryWrite(b);
Response.End();
the file will be opened to the client.

if your requirement is to Show A(Visakhapatnam) and B (RangaReddy) and remaining as C (others),then here is the query.
select DN,sum(DC) CNT from (
select case Districtnames when 'Visakhapatnam' then Districtnames when 'RangaReddy' then Districtnames
else 'Others' end 'DN',
count 'DC' from Districts) as t
group by DN

Hi, I use VS2005 C# for aspx.
- Default.aspx auto redirects to Index.aspx. It works fine. But iframes (src = other aspx files) in index.aspx cannot be displayed in IE and firefox version 3.x. Only blank content (white pages) are shown. When I right-click them, I can see the soure!
- PS: It works fine in firefox version 2.0.x.
- Below is the code of Index.aspx, please help. Thanks!
<%@ Page Language="C#" AutoEventWireup="true" CodeFile="Index.aspx.cs" Inherits="Page_EN_Index" %>
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" >
<head runat="server">
<title>Wealth Blooming</title>
<link rel="StyleSheet" href="../../StyleSheet.css" type="text/css" media="screen" />
</head>
<body>
<form id="form1" runat="server" class="pageIndex">
<div>
<table width="100%" border="0">
<tr>
<td class="frameTop" rowspan="1">
<iframe id="frameTop" runat="server" width="100%" height="280" frameborder="0" src="" scrolling="auto"></iframe>
</td>
<td class="pageRight" rowspan="3">
</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td class="frameHome" rowspan="1">
<iframe id="frameHome" runat="server" width="100%" height="1600" frameborder="0" src="Home.aspx" scrolling="auto"></iframe>
</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td class="frameBottom" rowspan="1">
<iframe id="frameBottom" runat="server" width="100%" height="150" frameborder="0" src="Bottom.aspx" scrolling="auto"></iframe>
</td>
</tr>
</table>
<br />
<br />
<asp:Label ID="labelError" runat="server" CssClass="labelError"></asp:Label>
</div>
</form>
</body>
</html>
* If the scr in Index.aspx iframe = aspx file with NO javascript, it works fine!

I am making a basic inventory tracking program for my wife's small business. I am looking for a way to keep track of each sale she makes. Right now, I have a form that pops up asking for customer name and date of sale. I want her to be able to pick how ever many products she wants from a list of products that I have stored in a table in the same database. Then I need to take all of those products and prompt the user to enter the number purchased and prices for each. I am struggling with the best way to do this. As you might suspect, I am learning C# solely for this purpose, so I am very beginner. Thanks for any help.

Why are you writing a web site to do this ? If you're not, you're in the wrong forum, try the C# forum.
