No this is just part of my freeware library. On the "real" work front, I joined a startup and have postponed sleep for the next 2 years. I'll catch up later.

Cool! I'm using a 2.8 Xeon @ work. It's plenty fast, but I should've got a 2.0 dual processor instead.

Hi,
i have created my own list ctrl that inherites from CListCtrl and has the property ownder draw fixed.
I want to force it to show vertical scroll bar.
i wrote the following code:
m_lc.ModifyStyle(0,WS_VSCROLL);
m_lc.SetScrollRange(SB_VERT,0,100);
m_lc.SetScrollPos(SB_VERT,0);
m_lc.ShowScrollBar(SB_VERT);
if i hook with spy++ to the list ctrl , i can see that the style was changed and now has WS_VSCROLL, but i don't see the vertical scroll bar. it only appears when many items has been inserted to the list....
can any1 help?
thanks
Yaron

I have a VC++ 6 project that is in Visual Source-Safe. I want the VC++ project and files to forget about the source-safe connection (So I can connect them to another source-safe server).
Which files do I need to update/delete?

I always pull the network cable out, and say no when it asks if I want it to look for Source safe in future. No doubt every other reply you get will provide a more elegant solution, it could hardly be less.

- Remove all .scc files. (mssccprj.scc + vssver.sc in each folder)
- Edit the .dsw/.dsp files
in the .dsw files, remove the source control sections
(compare with a non-connected VSS .dsw file)
for instance, this :
Package=<5>
{{{
begin source code control
"$/_WEB/HTTPSPY", NGAAAAAA
.
end source code control
}}}
becomes this :
Package=<5>
{{{
}}}
in the .dsp diles, make sure of the following assignments :
Scc_ProjName ""
Scc_LocalPath ""

The way VSS is integrated in MSDev is more than poor! It's not even possible to do a correct Share-Branch from MSDev and have the links to the new project locations updated automatically... shame on Microsoft.
For your problem, I wrote a small utility one day. It's a simple executable file that you call passing the dsp or dsw file as parameter and all the VSS tags are removed. If you want I can send it to you by email.

Hi,
I'm looking for a drawing c++ program/source that will enable me to do the following:
1. Draw primitive shapes like points, lines and polygons on a DC.
2. Select those shapes by clicking on them.
3. Move/resize selected shapes around (using the mouse) and also delete them.
I'd be really grateful is someone would please help me with this. I've looked at the MFC drawcli example and it sucks.
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Tanzim.

Yeah, you did....
Funny thing is, I KNOW I have code on CP that does half of what he wants, and if he tinkered with it and asked questions, I am one of many here who could easily answer them all. If he just did a bit of work himself I could end up virtually writing it all anyhow, but no way will I sit down and write someones homework for them.

I have a fortran program (Code as well as exe)
Can I embed this exe in my Visual C++ and compile the C++ code so that
my Fortran exe is fired at the appropriate time?
Is this possible?

You can spawn any external process (doesn't have to be FORTRAN) from a C++ application. User CRT function _spawnl or Win32 API ShellExecute.

Yes, with .NET you can.

Depending on the Fortran compiler you're using, maybe you can build a DLL and use it from your C++ code. Some Fortran IDEs do have DLL building.

I want to get the bytes received (per second) and bytes sent (per second) of one computer (windows 2000 advanced server) in the network.
The Snmp is forbidden for safety reason. And the best way is get the results from a remote computer with OS of windows. If no way, then find the way of getting the results in the local machine.
I just don't know how to get the results.
Would you please tell how to reach it?
Thank you very much!
