Hi Arun Jacob,
Thanks for your reply.
I tried to implement this in my solution. I tried to set ConstrainToParentBounds to true for my usercontrols such that these usercontrols will not move out of the canvas when I place them on the canvas in the MainPage.xaml. But I am unable to get this property for my user control.
Please reply me how I have to set this property for a usercontrol.
Thanks in advance.

Hello,
I have this class:
public class GameObject : ObservableCollection<Property>
{
public string Name { get; set; }
public override string ToString()
{
return Name;
}
}
Property is my own class.
When I add it to a ListBox it does not call the ToString() method but rather just shows (Collection) in the list box.
Isnt that a bug? At least seems weird to me. I do not want to change the class heirarchy from inheritance to composition for this problem but if I do not have a choice ill do it.

It's not a bug. You need to supply a template that tells the listbox what to display. Off the top of my head, this is what you'd expect to put into the XAML:
<Window
xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation"
xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml"
xmlns:d="http://schemas.microsoft.com/expression/blend/2006"
xmlns:mc="http://schemas.openxmlformats.org/markup-compatibility/2006" mc:Ignorable="d"
x:Class="GameSampleApp.Window1"
x:Name="Window"
Title="Sample App"
Width="380" Height="240">
<Window.Resources>
<Style TargetType="ListBox">
<Setter Property="Control.FontFamily" Value="Tahoma" />
<Setter Property="Control.FontSize" Value="10" />
</Style>
<Style x:Key="FontStyle">
<Setter Property="Control.FontFamily" Value="Verdana" />
<Setter Property="Control.FontStyle" Value="Italic" />
<Setter Property="Control.FontSize" Value="12"/>
</Style>
<DataTemplate x:Key="GamePersonTemplate">
<Grid>
<Grid.RowDefinitions>
<RowDefinition/>
</Grid.RowDefinitions>
<Grid.ColumnDefinitions>
<ColumnDefinition/>
</Grid.ColumnDefinitions>
<TextBlock Width="40" Grid.Column="0"
Text="{Binding Name, Mode=OneWay}" />
</Grid>
</DataTemplate>
</Window.Resources>
<Grid x:Name="LayoutRoot">
<ListBox Padding="3" HorizontalAlignment="Left" Width="Auto"
ItemTemplate="{DynamicResource GamePersonTemplate}"
ItemsSource="{Binding}" VerticalAlignment="Top" Height="Auto"/>
</Grid>
</Window> You'll obviously need to hook your GameObject into the DataContext.

I do this everyday - this code was easy. Josh Smith's code - now that's hard.

Hi to all,...
As a academic project, I want to design an website similar to Orkut.com in silverlight....Could anyone please give me some idea or hints on it?
Please give a clue on the dynamism of this kind of websites....how they achieve it?....how once a person logged in , can see his all scraps...is it under that user name, all the scraps are being stored....?....Now if a person changes his photo, the scrapbook on others account also changes the photo....
Basically i need an idea of how they work exactly
Thanks in advance

I would say that if you are a beginner, it would be the best if you can start working on small project instead of trying for something that is built by Google. Why don't you try simple Data Entey Form, Form authentication and etc first?

Hi,
I am working on a silverlight application. In this I have a scroll viewer with Canvas. These two are a module in Page.xaml. In the same way I have different modules in Page.xaml. Some times I need to change the width and height of the canvas and scrolview. At that time I want to change the location of these two components dynamically.
If anyone have any idea to dynamically change the location of the controls please reply me.
Thanks in Advance.

Hi
I am wondering if anybody knows what are the hardware requirements for wpf animations to run. I googled for it but found no answers. What I really want is to programmaticaly determine if the machine(graphic card) supports animations. Any advice will be appreciated.

If it's vista, I think you can programatically check the index that Vista has for how fast your computer is, how good your card is, etc. Otherwise, I'd expect you could look into writing DirectX code that checks if aspects of DX are available, that's what we're talking about, after all.

WPF uses DirectX/Direct3D, so I reckon if you can run a WPF app,
you can use WPF animation.

Is there a way to use excel spreadsheet ***as a datagrid*** in a WPF client-server application?
I know i can use WindowsFormsHost control in a WPF client application to host a winforms WebBrowser control, however this is really not a straight forward way of doing it.
I was wondering if you would know any other way of using excel spreadsheet ***as a datagrid*** in WPF client?

You can't use FILE:// URIs from a Silverlight application because
Silverlight applications don't have direct access to local drives.

Hi guys!
Experiencing something weird recently.
Due to the fact, that my observable collection is the datacontext of my wpf app,
I need to make sure, that every Thread is able to add Elements.
Now the easy and working way is to add a
Dispatcher.Invoke(new Action(()=>{collection.Add(element})); from every method being allowed to do so, which is kind of annoying.
So I thought it would be a good idea to add the functionality to the observable collection itself.
This is what I came up with:
class MElementsCollection :ObservableCollection<MElement>
{
#region Variables
private Dispatcher mainDipatcher;
public Dispatcher MainDipatcher
{
get {
if (mainDipatcher == null)
mainDipatcher = App.MainDispatcher;
return mainDipatcher;
}
}
#endregion
public void AddThreadSafe(MElement mElement)
{
if (Thread.CurrentThread != MainDipatcher.Thread)
{
MainDipatcher.Invoke(new Action(() =>
{
this.Add(mElement);
}));
}
else
this.Add(mElement);
}
}
Now what's actually happening is, that by adding many items short one after another, not every item is added to the collection but just for example every second one.
Can anyone please help me with this?
As always,
Thank you in advance
