Urgent from Chantal Kouakou
My Dear one,
I am Chantal Kouakou, the only child of Late Mr and Mrs Kouakou My father was a very wealthy cocoa merchant in Abidjan , the economic capital of Ivory Coast , my father was poisoned to death by his business associates on one of their outings on a business trip.
My mother died when I was still a child and since then my father took me so special. Before the death of my father on 30th June 2006 in a private hospital here in Abidjan he secretly called me on his bed side and told me that he has the sum of Fifteen million, United State Dollars. USD ($15,000,000.00) left in fixed / suspense account in one of the prime bank here in Abidjan in favour of his partner though he did not mention any name,
The also explained to me that it was because of this wealth that he
was poisoned by his business ssociates. That I should seek for a foreign partner in a country of my choice where i will transfer this money and use it for investment purpose such as real estate management or hotel management.
Dear, I am honourably seeking your assistance in the following ways:
(1) To provide a bank account into which this money would be transferred to.
(2) To serve as a guardian of this fund since I am only 23years.
(3) To make arrangement for me to come over to your country to further my education and to secure a resident permit in your country.
Moreover, dear, i am willing to offer you 15% of the total sum as
compensation for your effort/ input after the successful transfer of this fund into your nominated account overseas.
Furthermore, you indicate your options towards assisting me as I believe that this transaction would be concluded within fourteen (14) days you signify interest to assist me.
This fortune i have revealed to you should remain confidential as it only you who i have told about it.
Anticipating to hear from you soon. ckou0001@yahoo.fr
Thanks and God Bless.
Yours faithfully
Miss. Chantal Kouakou

How could anybody on this site not be familiar with the Nigerian?

Don't overestimate people... Think of the ones who post like this:
"hi my name is _____ i need to make _____ program plz giv me code k thx bye"
And think of how they'd respond to a 419 scam.

But Sir, Abidjan is in Ivory Coast, that is miles away from Nigeria.

True, but it is the first time I have had this sent from a CP user directly to my CP email address, so it was just a heads up.

And me!
This userid was setup today so I suggest it be removed forthwith before the entire membership of CP gets spammed. Oh wait, maybe we wouldn't mind so much if certain trolls persons received the odd plate of delicious spam?

Hi,
my current nickname (cazic72) stems from a time I worked on libxml/libxslt2;
it's absolete and I would like to change it to Casimodo72.
Does you system allow to change nicknames?
If not, do I have to delete my account and create a new one? - or how do I proceed?
Regards,
Kasimier

I just realized that Dalek should really not be your real name
I watched Doctor Who the last couple of weeks (yes, I didn't know about the Doctor until then) and feel a bit ashamed that I didn't realize that I'm responding to a Dalek - Daleks are superior.

Hi,
I wrote my first article here at Goodies for RIA Services [^]
What is the estimated time for you guys here to approve an article to be published for public?

Kasimier

Hi,
For gold members it appears as the second one in the "articles-waiting-for-approval" list on the CodeProject home page; as soon as one of the goldies approves it, it would become public. That may take a few days, keep in mind it is weekend now.
The article is about Silverlight, of which I know nothing, so I'm not going to read or approve it. Also, it is very very short. In my view it would have to be a exceptionally good text to pass.

Hi Luc,
"Also, it is very very short. In my view it would have to be a exceptionally good text to pass."
Does this imply that a processor with a bigger public API would have a better chance of being posted here?
The intent was to provide access to the code that comes with the download of that article.
The code was first posted in the RIA Services forum: http://forums.silverlight.net/forums/t/121127.aspx[^]
I now realize that CodeProject might not be that great to provide prompt access to code.
I.e., I'm not that interested in a code repository, where you cannot predict if the code will actually be posted.
Thanks & regards,
Kasimier

Hi,
The way I understand it CP expects didactic articles that teach stuff to readers. Downloadable code is mandatory but is not the essence. CP is not a code repository.

Hi Luc,
yes, you seem to be right; and I find CodeProject's philosophy regarding its didactic goal honorable indeed.
One might mention that not everyone is interested in unnecessary explanations and is indeed able to learn from looking at code. I hope that the Kryptonite-members, or whatever, keep that in mind. The API consists of 3 custom Attributes. There's no gain in talking about details.
The issue is that I wasn't aware that articles are being withhold until some glory guy puts his/her official seal on them. This has the effect that the code is currently not available. I should have read the small print first.
Thus once again: I realized that CodeProject is not adequate for the purpose of prompt publication of code (no pun intended; this is a conclusion).
Regards,
Kasimier

The Gold Member Approval was brought in as a response to morons/trolls down voting articles either as a personal attacks or general badness.
The theory is that the weapon guards itself. By the time you get to Gold Status you have the sense not to just piss about, the intelligence to moderate fairly and have earned the respect that your opinions are accepted.
It is not a case Elitism. Also gold members will only approve on articles that they themselves have a direct knowledge of.
For example a C# expert would do the approval ona C# article.
That said, approval is usually quite quick, but as has been mentioned, this is the weekend when a lot of members are off the grid.
I suspect you will get feedback in 24-48 hours from now.
Hope this helps.
